early morning ramblings

listening to finch talk for the past couple of days and watching Braveheart tonight has made me think of some very interesting questions...

like, how hard would it be for a professional torturer during the medieval era? it sounds easy enough, just jab a guy with knife, etc. however, torture is not to cause someone pain, but to break someone. you have to know what exactly you can need to break them, and use pain to enforce your words. this requires you have known what it's like to have been in such a dire situation, to have felt being hopeless, to wish the pain would go away. only when you know those feelings are you able to take someone to the edge a make them do your will. other than that, you are just causing the person pain. but whatever they have been through to make them deserve such treatment, has to have been much worse than torture. how is any pain going to force them to submission?

look at what alot of activiy, but not alot of sleep will do to a person. i already have had this weird relationship with pain, but now this? yikes...okay...no more caffine...must sleep...sleep is good...must stop typing...0_o
