It's mostly official (i.e. I still have to sign a piece of paper to make it completely official.)
I am leaving CIT and moving over to the Library. I have accepted a position there as Coordinator of System Architecture, which means I'm going to be responsible for the care and feeding of the library's mission-critical systems, involved in managing a lot of the less mission-critical systems, and providing a good dose of general technical leadership and guidance.
It's a big step up from where I am now and where I've been in the past. I'm rather looking forward to it.
I've already begun the transition informally, as the current person on the job is here only until May 14 (she's retiring and moving to San Diego). I'm getting as much time with her while she's still here, which means I'll be then backfilling some time back in CIT once she's gone.
It took several weeks between my interview and the offer, mostly because of people involved being out of town. But as much as the waiting was driving me nuts, I'm happy with the result. :-)
Lots of other stuff happening, but I'm too brain-fried right now from a day of meeting new people to relay it all.
