if you're writing a thesis or haven't written a thesis and wanna know more... here's a pretty helpful link i found:
http://209.85.207.104/search?q=cache:AXOT36G2SPwJ:self.uws.edu.au/Current_Research_Students/Thesis_Structure.pdf+thesis+table+of+contents&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us&client=firefox-a it goes over the basic structure, and not necessarily for a science-based one, section by section, saying what to include and how to generally format.
so, my thesis:
title page - done
preface - done
acknowledgments - done
table of contents - done
introduction - done
literature review - going
methods - done
results - done
discussion - going
conclusion - going
appendix - getting there
page count - 35ish. woot.
i went to my thesis sponsors office last night at 11 and finished my poster with her... drunk. (haha. beer and chicken waaaaangs!) my poster will be printed and laminated today. she told me to print business cards to give to graduate profs. oh weird.
BELINDA! so i have these wide leg dress pants and long sleeve dress shirts from express that i'm bringing to the conference with me, what the hell kind of shoes am i supposed to wear with it!? i don't think platforms are going to cut it. and those sweater vest things... for serious? i feel ridiculous... i need help... please.
she also says that i'm the "comma queen," i told her that she should be thankful that she didn't have to read anything that i wrote my freshman year...
helpful thesis tip of the day: left margin MUST be 1.5 inches to compensate for binding! who would have thought!? whoo hoo some extra blank space to make me look like i've written more!
omg the geeky icon is adorable.
