Xander 6 Month Check Up

Dec 28, 2005 19:17

So here we go. Xander went for his 6 month check up today.

He weighs....17 pounds, 12 ounces. He is 26 and 3/4 inches long.

He weighs less than I thought he did. On average, he gains roughly a pound a month and grows an inch a month. However, his next checkup isn't for 3 months, so I'm assuming at his 9 month he'll weigh about 20 pounds and be about 29-30 inches long.

The doctor went through the usual schpiel like, ok, is he moving things from hand to hand, is he rolling over ok, is he sitting up ok, is he eating ok...blah blah. Same stuff he asks every time. Then he starts to say that soon he'll start to be on the go and we just kinda started laughing. He asked what was so funny and Joe told him that Xander has been crawling for a month now. Then I told him that he started pulling himself to standing last week

That made the doctor really happy. He said that Xander is healthy and strong and a very smart and advanced little baby.

He told me that I can start giving Xander biter biscuits. We happened to have some of Jazmin's that Kalie gave me for Xander. I gave him one when we got home. At first he made a funny face when he tried it, but then he got into it. He was sitting on Diane's lap munching on his biscuit and Bear was sitting next to him. Well damnit, now that Xander has tasty treats, Bear wants to be his best friend. Xander kept offering the biscuit to Bear, but when the dog would go to get a bite, Xander would pull it away and smile. He was teasing the poor pooch. He got into eating the biscuit though. I'm glad I have a couple of boxes. I don't know how many I should give him a day tho..maybe 2? As little snacks I spose.

Well that's all for now!
