Sloppy face

I just watched a really nice movie called The Beautiful Country. About a man who leaves Vietnam to find his way to Texas in order to look for his American GI father. I cried. Definitely worth seeing.

I miss my family lately. I suppose it will be only just over three months before we will all be together again. I hope everyone is healthy and well. Sometimes I worry that my siblings and parents will not be around for as long as I hope for them to be.

There was a recent murder in Calgary that has put me into this perspective I think. The 41 year old waitress who served Geoff and I on our first date. Who always appeared calm and gentle, genuine and caring. She was murdered in the basement of the restaurant in which she works just one week ago tonight. The guilty one has not yet been found. Whoever killed her set fire to the basement to try and cover up the evidence. The sprinklers put out the fire before the evidence could all be covered up, but still no end to the case. Not even a suspect yet. I don't understand how things like this happen.
