Prompt #109
Write a letter to someone you feel you need to spend more time with.
Dear Aunt Elle,
Greetings! I hope that this note finds you in good spirits and that you are doing well. Things have been really busy for me since I got back from Jamaica, but my vacation was pretty awesome.
I was very surprised when the postal carrier rang the bell today. To my delight, it turned out to be a registered package from you. I slowly opened the cardboard sleeve and pulled out a slim green box. Nestled in a bed of tissue was a simply exquisite necklace. I squealed with excitement as I carefully lifted the delicate links from its nest. It's beautiful and I love it. Thank you very much! I appreciate you thinking of me while you were on your October vacation and sending me a gift you picked up there. I plan to wear it the next time I go out and I will post an FB picture so you can see it.
I miss you, Aunt Elle. The last time I saw you was in 2008 and that is far too long. I know we talk on the phone all the time, but it just isn't the same as when we actually get to see each other. I know that you are 75% sold on the idea of meeting my mother and me in January for a Girls Vaykay in Las Vegas. I hope that we can do this. Simply put, we miss you and would love to spend time with you. Please let me know ASAP so I can order airline tickets and make hotel reservations.
Love you!
Love,
Reeves
I really plan to send this to Aunt Elle. She is my favorite aunt and was thoughtful enough to send me an unexpected surprise. She has gone through a lot these past two years with her health and drama created by my cousins (her two sons); she deserves a nice vacation. The trip she took that I mentioned in my letter was mostly business and family-related.
