Here is the Q&A list from tomorrow's thefridayfive.

It's the "stranded on a desert island" question! You can only take one thing from each category. What is it and why are you taking it?

1. A food that can be planted and regrown.

It would have to be vegetable of some sort. Perhaps a leafy green like romaine lettuce would work, or something more prolific like tomatoes, which are technically a fruit. My main concern would be nutrition value and taste. I don't particularly care for tomatoes, but I could learn to live off of them if I had to (as long as there are other nutritious things to eat).

2. A person you haven't seen in a long time.

I would take Dhors. It has been a month since the last time we got together for dinner, which was here and a chat. Yes, I know a month isn't a terribly long time, but it is when you're used to seeing someone on a weekly basis.

3. A book you (were) read as a child.

This is hard. It only takes a few hours to finish my favorite children's books, so what else would I read when I'm done? Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls in one of my favorite and I pick that for the length and story. I also haven't read it in ages, so it would keep me entertained for a while.

4. A celebrity.

J.K. Rowling. After I finish asking her all the questions I have about the Harry Potter series, perhaps we could collaborate and write something while we're stuck there on the island. I also have a lot to vent about certain things in the HP series, but I have to keep telling myself that this was her vision.

5. The entire episode run of a television show (it's a very nice desert island).

General Hospital. That show has been going strong since the 1950s or 1960s and I'd have decades worth of episodes to watch. With the exception of holidays or special events, the show airs five days a week which translates to many, many, many hours of viewing.
Here are my thoughts about last Sunday's The Amazing Race.

Note: Uncovered Spoilers

• I think Victor made a tactical error by ditching the other two teams that were trying to find the Russian Snowplow Detour. Not only did he show his strategy and thinking process to the other teams, but he also created an atmosphere of polite animosity and mistrust. It's still too early to be that aggressive. You don't want to piss off people who might possibly be able to help you later on.

• Phil in skivvies! *laughs* I'm glad he embraced the spirit of the Roadblock and stripped down.

• The Roadblock: O_O That was tough with the weather element. When I was in summer camp as a kid, we formed a Polar Bear Club that went swimming in the cold hours of early morning. It was nowhere near as frigid as those temperature readings though.

• I would have loved to try the Snowplow Detour. Driving that looked like a lot of fun.

• As always, driving in foreign countries is always harrowing for the teams. Christie & Jodi actually did the smart thing by paying a taxi driver to take them to the location while they followed.
