Tree Trimming

Yesterday's tree trimming party was a lot of fun. The rain evaporated from the needles, so I was able to string the lights on the trees before the guests arrived to help decorate. I'm in the living room looking at the bigger tree right now. It is so fragrant and it's great to see ornaments from my collection. I always feel bad when I have to put them away for the season, but I think it makes bringing them back out that much more special. The little tree in the family room is decorated with Harry Potter ornaments and sorting hat lights.

Dinner was pasta alfredo and chicken pot pies with garlic bread and green salad. I baked chocolate chip cookies in the morning and made them smaller than usual. They were the "bread" for the dessert: ice cream sandwiches that I made chocolate and vanilla ice creams. I also made a huge layered dip which was practically inhaled the moment I served it.

I had planned for a Lord of the Rings marathon after the trees went up, but instead we watched my Heroes DVD sets. Some of my friends instantly became new fans of the show.
NaBloPoMo

This post officially ends my 2008 NaBloPoMo effort. It wasn't as hard to find things to write about as I thought it would be. What made it hard was posting daily. There are days when I just don't have time to read LJ, much less write. I would get around this by posting shortly before midnight and shortly after midnight on days that I knew would be busy. Yes, I know that was sneaky, but it was the only way I could keep up.
Holiday Cards

I will be working on my holiday cards in the next few days. If you want one from me, please comment here.
