Eighteenth move.

Is it just me, or do a lot of these event announcements have to do with food? I mean, I like food and everything, but why use that in these poems about how we're all gonna be in incredible pain?! Why not use something already connected to pain, like school or something?

food is good, pain is bad

Because it's not torture if you're expecting it.

Well, no one said I ever wanted to be tortured in the first place.

No one ever does. It's not like turn down service.

I should be able to turn down being transfigured into some kind of monster or some such thing, shouldn't I?

That's very sweet. You're still young enough to believe in free will.

... what's that supposed to mean?

We're all somebody's bitch.

Well, you're certainly cheery.

Mmmm in general.

You are adorable though. Or at least you haven't annoyed me to the point that I want to strangle you yet.

I'm Ruby.

Well, that's good, then. I think.

I'm Ron Weasley. You're new here, right?

I haven't met many kids.

Mmmm hmmm. Just sort of settling in.

There are a few of us about. More than that, depending on what you consider a "kid."

Well, be careful. An event's about to happen, and there've only been two or three decent ones since I've come here.

Hmmm not really sure. Kid sized. Who takes care of you all? Don't kids need to be taken care of?

Yeah...the whole prey and claws thing. Sounds interesting at least. What were the decent ones like?

And how long have you been here?

We don't really have anyone looking after us. My mum arrived not too long after I did, so she's taken it on herself to do a lot of the cooking and cleaning. But there's no school or homework or any chores here, so there's not much for parents to do.

There was one event where the mansion turned into a festival-type place called Twilight Town, and another where we just went around calling each other silly nicknames. Oh, and one where we thought we were at some sort of art and dance school, which wasn't as bad as it could have been.

I've been here since... well, it was the end of July in my world, but the calendar here says it was mid-May. So about five months.

Huh. I don't remember much about being a kid but it sounds like a good deal to me.

Eh...yeah. There was no threat of being eaten at least I guess.

And no sign of any way out I guess.

It is pretty nice, though it gets a bit boring once in a while.

Not usually, no. It's definitely an improvement to the alternative.

None that I've seen. But people apparently do find their way back sometimes.
