Early on Wednesday July 25th, we packed everyone up, said our goodbyes, and headed to St. Louis.

On to the Vieths reunion.  It wasn't as big since most couldn't come up on the day that we were in town.  One is in Bahrain, one in South Dakota, one in Chicago, and 2 in Texas.  But aunt Mickie and her son Larry and his wife Kelly were in town.  We headed to Hawley, MN to meet them for lunch.

We also had a total of 3 reunions on this trip:  Rosell, Vieths, and Hornemann.  I'll focus on the Rosell one here.

A week after we arrived, Renae took the kids and headed up to Detroit Lakes, MN for a family reunion.  I stayed behind because Chris was flying in on Friday night.  We drove up on Saturday morning with my brother.  It was at my uncle ( Read more... )

We went on a 2.5 week vacation to MN and MO in July.  We left bright and early on July 13th to head to Liberty, MO.  We spent the night there.  It was momentous because this was the first time I have driven it alone, without ( Read more... )

We leave Dallas at 8:55 am on Sunday morning to spend 6 days in Petaluma, CA with Chris.  Tomorrow is laundry and packing day.  I have people arranged to feed the animals for the duration of the trip.  I have electronic devices and a laptop and dvd's and reading material and toys and coloring books and snacks.  I even had ear planes for the kids' ( Read more... )

It has been a hectic week.  Sam recovered from his stomach virus and we were able to attend the family party. ( lots of pics )

Since I am sitting and waiting and waiting and sitting while my new desktop software installs, I thought it was time to update my journal.

Chris arrived safely on Thursday night and was rudely awakened (as is his wont) by our children at 6:15 am on Friday.  ( Weekend details )

Virginia is our first hit with strep throat this season.  She complained of a sore throat this morning before swimming lessons but she only had a low fever and her throat didn't look bad so I figured it was allergy drainage, like usual.  I had her gargle and gave her some ibuprofen.  She was good for most of the day.  But then the ibuprofen wore ( Read more... )
