Ok, it is still March.  I get that.  But for pity's sake, I live in fricken Texas, it is not suppose to be WHITE outside on the first day of spring!!!!  Snow is gathering on the lawn furniture.  The wind is too hard to allow sheets to cover the daffodils so I had to cut the 2 that had already sprung.  I put them into a vase with some flower dust.  ( Read more... )

Ok, I took the plunge and purchased Nestle Quik.  I finally tried it and I can say that I am still unimpressed with it.  Hershey had the far superior product.  I dumped a bunch of this stuff into the milk and it still had a weak flavor.  It also had a strange aftertaste.  All in all, I consider it barely tolerable.  It is really no better than ( Read more... )

The PTA for Ginny's school is hosting a Teacher Appreciation luncheon.  I haven't been able to be as involved in the PTA as I would like so I volunteered to make 3 desserts.  I had hoped for 4 or 5 but with the school cancellation (and the luncheon cancellation) and then the return to school (and the luncheon) I wasn't able to make as much as I had ( Read more... )

I hate peppers.  I have tried all 3 varieties (green, yellow, red) and I hate them all.  They are bitter and nasty.  If you want to define parental devotion, somewhere inside of it should be eating food you hate to make sure your children don't get your food biases.  I did just that tonite ( Read more... )

For most of my childhood, my family used Hershey's Chocolate Milk Mix powder.  It makes the best hot chocolate.  The powder dissolved wonderfully and tasted better than Nestle Quik.  I use to be able to get hold of it at the local Kroger but they stopped carrying it about a year ago.  My sister went on a hunt in MN to find it and went to 4 stores ( Read more... )
