Chris and I will have our 10th wedding anniversary on Oct. 23rd.  Because of Virginia's birthday being the 2nd of Oct and his sister's wedding being on Nov. 7th, we will not be able to be together for it.  Not the funnest thing but it is what we have to deal with.  He decided to be sneaky and wonderful and buy me an awesome anniversary gift.  I now have a bright red Kitchenaid stand mixer.  I have wanted one since before we got married and he convinced me not to register for it.  He has had to endure my whining ever since.  He managed to get an amazing deal on it with numerous discounts and rebates and it arrived on Wednesday.  I cleaned up my kitchen on Thursday to make room for it.

It comes with the standard bread hook, beater paddle, and whisk.  Chris is planning to get accessories for it as gifts for me (Christmas, birthday, etc.).  My first request will be a second bowl.  My plans include geeking it out.  I am currently planning ways to get some slick vinyl decals (like I have on my car) as adornment.  I am leaning towards Asian dragons for the top and daleks and/or a Tardis for the base.  And no, I have not named it.

Yet.

And in other news, the hate I have for the new motherboard continues.  I was so desperate for a new board that I didn't really examine the features this one didn't have.  The front USB ports do not work and I suspect that they have killed off my SD card reader, my external hard drive case, and unpowered 2 port hub.  I can't even get them recognized by V's laptop.  The ports in the back are ok but not the front.  I have picked up 2 powered hubs to deal with the lack of front ports.  It also feels slower.  That could be the old processor chip.  Not sure yet.  I don't have the time to devote to fixing it.

I am also getting ready for the fall twin's club sale.  It is on Oct 10th.  I have A LOT of clothes, shoes, and toys to ditch.  I hope I make some good money.  We need the savings account built back up.

But for now, I am off.  Virginia is in her first Girl Scout meeting tonite.  She didn't want me to leave but I hope she did better once I left.  I snuck off with the twins in tow.  I need to be there in 20 minutes and there are other things to do before I go.  And tomorrow I get to mow the lawn again.  Oh, Joy!  And I still haven't taken the big red mixer out for a test drive.  Maybe tomorrow afternoon.
