Dude, that just made my day - serious highlight.
So as of 8-10-10 I've officially been working at the vet's office for a year. I didn't work on the day itself but Thursday Gwen the office manager flagged me down to give me something that she'd been carrying around since then.
I shit you not, its a $3 gift card to Starbucks. I honestly wasn't even insulted, just SO amused I cannot even tell you...it actually made my day(which until then had been terribly boring.) I mean, I didn't even know they sold gift cards for $3, it just seems sort of pointless. Yesterday I went ahead and got a small mocha frapp. with a slice of pumpkin bread and it didn't even cover the bill. Too fucking funny. Anyhow, I'm finally sheduled for a review hopefully next week...that shit better come with a raise.
For those wondering what I get up to at work grooming wise...
Mind, I've never had any proper training for this - just handed the clippers and a critter and told to figure it out. There have been some bad ones...like the first Golden Retriever I did(omg I hate shaving those coats long) but I think I'm getting better! Some go better than others, I think my favorites to do are probably Cocker Spaniels and cats, oddly enough.
Also, this whole Muslim center at 'Ground Zero' thing is out of control. Holy fuck people, really? So far I like this best.
I'm also due for a fannish post....maybe tonight. ;D
