So yeah, I just love racism. <.< I went to Walmart today to buy my mom a mother's day gift and I went to the cd area to buy a cd for myself. I wanted the Spanish version of the new Shakira cd because she just sounds better in Spanish. But anyway, I found the English version in the rock/pop section, so I went to the "Latin music" section to search. It was complete chaos. There was no sign of alphabetical order, or any order for that matter... So I went up to the cashier and said "Hi, um, is the Spanish cd section in any sort of order? Because I was looking for the new Shakira cd..." So then she says another lady would know, and asked if the Spanish section was in alphabetical order. Now, this lady was the white trashiest looking old hag I'd seen ALL DAY in Walmart. And this is what she said "No, we don't put the Spanish cds in alpha order because first of all, none of us speaks Spanish, so we wouldn't even know where to start. And even if we did put it in alpha order, 5 minutes later they'd destroy it just like they do everything else." I was like "Ooooookay...". I was just shocked that she'd say this to someone, a customer, who she didn't know in the least! She didn't know, I could have been married to a Mexican guy, and then I probably would've hit her! I mean, I was looking in the Spanish section... idiot. And when she said it she leaned in close like gossip one girl would tell another. In hindsight, I should have talked to her manager and said "Hi, you have a racist idiot working for you." Really though, I think I was just too surprised that she'd say something like that, and wanted to get as far away from her as possible. But yeah, just had to get that out.
