[LJ Idol 7: Topic 1] The Tale of the DRAGON Superhero Fairy Princess
Once upon another place and time, there was a little girl who was a fairy princess. And because this was another place and time, there were a lot of other little girls who were fairy princesses too. This little girl wasn't any old fairy princess, she was a superhero fairy princess, with a superhero fairy wizard king Dad and a superhero good witch queen Mom and a shape-shifting superhero baby sister who might or might not also be a fairy princess - she could decide that when she got older.
So, this superhero fairy princess that our story is about, she went to school to talk with her superhero fairy friends, and guess what? She found out there were DRAGONS in her school, that's what! And the DRAGONS thought that they were big and mean and scary, though they really weren't much bigger than the superhero fairy princess and her friends. And they laughed among themselves, loud enough for the superhero fairy princess to hear, about what a great meal a wimpy little fairy princess would make for a great big scary DRAGON!
The superhero fairy princess, not being wimpy at all, walked right up to the dragons and told them that they were being mean. And the DRAGONS laughed and laughed at her, because she was a girl, and she thought that she was as swift and strong and smart as a DRAGON!
She did not run away from them, though she did back away slowly and carefully. And she went home and asked her superhero fairy wizard king Dad for some help.
She did not ask him to slay the DRAGONS, nor to turn them into toads for her to stomp on. No, this superhero fairy princess believes in fighting her own battles - she just knew she needed a little bit of grown-up help, this time. So she asked her superhero fairy wizard king Dad if she could be a dragon for a few days. And her superhero fairy wizard king Dad told her superhero good witch queen Mom of this request, and together they agreed that they would - just for a little while - turn their superhero fairy princess daughter into a DRAGON superhero fairy princess!
And the not-evil genius witch doctor teacher at the young princess's school thought that this was a most excellent plan, when the DRAGON superhero fairy princess looked all the other DRAGONS in the eye as their equal. She was swift and strong in flight, and she could breathe fire with the best of them. But this dragon had no desire to devour young princesses - just to protect them, for she was one of them.
After facing down the dragons, she was content to go back to just being a superhero fairy princess, so she gladly shed her scales and hugged her superhero fairy king Dad and superhero good witch queen Mom, and kissed them, and thanked them, and told them good night.
And the superhero fairy king Dad and superhero good witch queen Mom told their daughter how very proud they were to have a child who was swift and strong and smart, who was beautiful and brave and a wonderful example for her little sister.
They all slept well that night, and they continue - it is said - to live happily ever after.
