To celebrate lifelong learning, here is my updated list of free online courses, podcasts, webinars, and such. In particular, these look like the best and brightest choices to launch your investigations:

1. MIT is still offering open courseware in a huge variety of topics
I think they were the first, and they are amazing quality.

2. Oh yeah, this place has a decent selection, too. Check out the OE, Shakespeare, and Philosophy Bites series.
(If you wanna chat about robot uprisings, email me. I might be able to hook you up.)

with a nod to two of our local boys: Free download of complete Narnia series
and 1968 Beeb interview with Tolkien (play beginning, then jump to 2:45)
Be sure to check out the many other author interviews on the BBC site.

3. 600 free courses from the Open University:
This one is especially fun: a history of the English language in 10 minute cartoon segments. Very snarky.

4. 100 great American speeches, just because we should know more of them.

5. Harvard stuff -- here and here and here! (Includes Shakespeare with Marjorie Garber!)

6. Cool stuff from Yale:

7. enlightenment via NYU

8. The infamous TED Talks

9. Wanna learn a new language?

10 . Need more? Here and here are master lists. with hundreds of schools listed.

Have you found one that you really adore which isn't on this list? Let me know!

Happy Learnin'!
