Versus (Pharmaceutical Edition)

Since yesterday I've been having another allergy attack - that woozy out-of-it feeling, sniffles, occasional cough, sore throat from all the post-nasal drip, too damn much mucus, sinus headache. Not a happy camper, in other words.

So this morning, I drove to the drugstore, and I have things all set for the title bout.
In the pink corner, wearing the "Premier Value" robe, we have. . . Generic Benadryl!
And in the, um, other pink corner, wearing the "vitaminenergy" robe, we have. . . Energy Drink!
This the first time we here in Christine's body have been witness to a match like this. This is a match for the history books, one to tell your children about.
And now, if the contestants are ready. . . Fight!

(I've also got a side-match going; Mucinex versus a small box of Puffs Plus Lotion. Will the Mucinex stop working before I run out of tissues, or will the tissues have to give way to toilet paper before the extended release Mucinex stops working around 9 pm?)

I'm already taking the Zyrtec the doctor had told me to take, it's just that the allergies completely outpaced it. I'm hoping that I can pull the same stunt with allergies that I pull with pain management - when it gets out of control, pull out the big guns until things are back to OK, then scale back to the normal armaments.
