Computer Question!
Those of you on my f-list that may know; what on earth does it mean when you start up your computer and you wind up with just that cursor blinking in the upper left corner of the screen and the HD has stopped even thinking? And THEN when you finally just "reboot" it (yes by pushing and just holding down power) to get to the HP title screen (after it does the 'black screen thing' a few more times since you obviously missed the F10 push the very first time eh.) and look at stuff ... and go F10 into settings, and swap the order of the drives to boot (It WAS 1. Floppy, 2. CD, 3. HDD) so that the HDD is #1 . . . it works finally and loads Windows?
Have I a virus? Did I screw something up by going into settings and changing the boot order like that? I dunno, but it worked now, and yeah.
I'm AVG-free scanning it now. Thoughts?
My husband, of course is very helpful, his responses were "Are you running a Mac?" (when I told him that it wouldn't boot Windows) and "Time to Install Windows 7?"
