Husky & Alaskan Malamute's swimming session at Furrenz
Today we're bringing our dogs swimming at www.furrenz.com !
with the other group of husky / malamute gang...
*the last time round*, Mochi was so afraid to go into the water
also with his hip condition, he is adviced by doctors to go for a swim at least 2 times a week
we finally found a place friendly for dogs to swim !
actually this pool is meant for dogs, but we had to accompany mochi inside
mochi's first step in... he's so afraid
and later part in the clip he panicked...
so we let him rest at the side

we tried to encourage mochi to go deeper into the pool with treats
it only helped a little bit...
then we held him onto the water and he panicked somemore and was breathing so hard
so we let him out for him to rest and calm down
his legs were so weak he couldnt stand for the first 20 seconds
lovo, the malamute from russia.. still a puppy but much bigger than mochi
this little puppy husky is so funny
he is scared of the water
water looks so clean and shiny..
oh yes the water is clean until all the malamute and huskies got in
it was filled with fur after that
after many tries with mochi at round one
(conning him with snack food etc etc)
we brought him in for round 2
little bit of progress but best was when they handed us a life jacket for him to try
at first he still panicked... and he was paddling so hard he's so afraid he'd drown
but we let him tire himself until he can struggle no more
at that time, he slowly realise that he wouldnt sink inside
rewarding him with treats...
we brought him out of the water for the 2nd time for him to rest
we went in for round 3..
hugged him tight so he wouldnt panic again
and slowly let him go with my hands still touching him..
slowly trying many times, we finally let go and he floated there
ahah so cute...
and then his hands started moving slowly
great, he seems calm now and i wonder if he's able to relax just floating there

he seems to enjoy paddling then
which was all we wanted
ehhe drying off after his 3 swimming sessions...
i think we made good progress today
and we will bring him back every week
thinking of making a small pool in my house now for mochi
zara will enjoy it too
friendly bull terrier who gets along with mochi
so tempted to adopt her ehhehe
she's such a sweetie
