ugh you will LOVE Brienne tbh she's a female knight that Renly puts on his Kingsguard when he becomes claimant for the throne and she's got incredible physical strength but she's super idealistic and really adheres to the code of chivalry and is one of the few characters who is pretty much unquestionably Good and the actress that plays her is amazing.

But no, fandom is really fucked up and they only like the women that like boyish things like swords and fighting and stuff - it reminds me of my problems with Harry Potter and how the girls who like traditional girly things are made out to be stupid, simpering idiots which doesn't sit right with me. But GOD, that scene with Sansa and Joffrey made me cry and cheer at the same time. Her Kubrick stare was amazing, and Cat's OFF THE CUFF plan to capture Tyrion was perfection. And how she told everyone she was taking him to Winterfell but actually took him to the Eyrie? FLAWLESS. And I agree about Cersei. I love her more after reading the books and I get her haters, but to hate Cersei so much and yet excuse Jaime even though they're basically the same character except he's a man and she's not is gross imo. HE THREW A LITTLE BOY OUT A WINDOW.

Like Bradamante?! *Loves a good lady knight* Also, I'm kind of impressed at Renley. You go, Renley with your primitive, rudimentary gender equality and shit.

See, I like ladies with swords and fighters and I love the everliving out of Arya and Dany (favourite character, across House lines) but there's more than one way to be strong. Catelyn isn't a fighter to me but she is like tempered steel and Sansa has the same stuff in her, I've every faith in her. MY QUEEN IN THE NORTH, OK? Now and forever. So much love for them both. <3

If Game of Thrones was a modern-day non-fantasy verse with modern reality mores applied to the characters? Cersei would be a monster, no question (unless of course a society that allows her to pursue her own shit and succeed/fail on her own merits makes her a healthier, happier human being which it probably would, obvs) but so would more than half the male cast too and she always has a lot more to lose than them. I don't like her but I can spare some pity and understanding for her.

Brienne's relationship with Renly is kind of heartbreaking and lovely because he obviously likes her and has a lot of respect for her and she is madly in love with him and he's obviously in love with Loras so it's like "aw Brienne :(" But after he promotes Brienne to his Guard, Loras gets really jealous and lol I was cackling. She's fabulous, you will love her :)

AND YES I AGREE 100%. I love Dany so much. She's easily my favorite and my heart breaks for her and the fact that she's overcome so much is so amazing and I just adore the living hell out of her, but the people who prop her and Arya up and are like "LOOK AT THEM, THEY'RE SO STRONG AND CAT AND SANSA AND CERSEI ARE WEAK" are just so wrong because there are so many different types of strength and let's be real - the fact that Sansa is still alive after five books after being in a lion's den and having so much shit thrown at her is proof enough of her strength. She and Catelyn might not be physical fighters, but they're stronger than they let on.

Renley/Loras. I do enjoy this. I don't do a lot of active shipping in this fandom actually. There's Renley/Loras, and I liked Ned and Cat together when Ned was y'know alive and still had his head, and I dig Jon/Dany purely because I think Kit and Emilia are both incredibly pretty people (Drogo/Dany is DNW, rapeyness is never cool) and I like the idea of Arya/Gendry when Arya's grown up.

And I sort of want to ship Robb with anyone wHo'll get him naked, sweaty and NC-17. That's pretty much it really.

Unless you count Jon/Samwell, brOTP to shake the ages.

I don't really do much shipping either. I love Renly/Loras and I liked Ned/Cat but other than that I'm just like.. eh. And ugh I can't get behind Dany/Drogo. I enjoyed their scenes after she asserted herself or whatever and Emilia and Jason were so beautiful together but their entire relationship was so gross to me. But I pray for Sansa/Dany if Dany comes to Westeros.

And aw Sam ♥ He doesn't get the love he deserves imo. He's such a sweetheart I love him so much.
