So I saw Midnight in Paris and it was surprisingly good! It was really lighthearted and lovely and well-written. I don't think I'll ever like Rachel McAdams and she was easily the weakest link of the cast, in my opinion, but she did her job in the sense that I didn't like Inez and I was on Gil's side. All of the supporting cast was A+. Marion Cotillard was exquisite as Adriana, Lea Seydoux is fucking stunning and was charming and beautiful and i really wish she'd had more screen time. I've never seen Michael Sheen in anything before, but he was hilarious! And everyone else in the past scenes were perfection. I wish the Fitzgeralds had more time and natch, I needed more Adrien Brody as Dali. I wish he'd had scenes with either Lea or Marion or Kathy Bates, and I wish any of the three of them had any kind of interaction. Overall, it was a really lovely movie and I really enjoyed the message it had about it being pointless to want to live in the past. It's definitely my favorite Woody Allen movie since the '90s.

I also saw The Tree of Life which was also pretty goddamn great. I'm still trying to ~process it, but it was visually exquisite (naturally) and it made me cry and it was just so good. Jessica Chastain was flawless and ugh, I just really, really loved it. The music and cinematography and everything was pitch perfect. God, it was so great.

And I also got a job at a children's clothing store. So far, I've only had five days of working, but I like it a lot more than when I worked at Hasting's, IHOP and the Record Exchange. My bosses are both really lovely people and it's a really relaxed environment. It's nice. I still get stressed when working the cash register (lol because I fail at math), but it's better than at IHOP where basically my boss made fun of you if you screwed up. It's nice, it keeps me busy and I like it a lot so far.
