How diverse are your fics? + TP Mazembe’s hair.
Nicked off Grace, a small census of how many footie fics I’ve written with other ethnic groups in them. Also: the hairdos of TP Mazembe, who saw off the Mexican team in the Club World Cup this week.
The total number of footie fics I’ve written, including drabbles, appears to be 83. I’m not sure whether to be impressed by this or to say “Is that all?”, because it feels as if there ought to be more. Never mind.
The roster of nonwhite characters reads thusly:
Roman Abramovich (Ashkenazi Jewish)
Didier Drogba (Ivoirian)
Mancini, Maicon, Thiago Silva and Felipe Melo (black Brazilian)
Juan Manuel Vargas (black Peruvian or native Peruvian, can’t tell which)
Ivan Ramiro Cordoba (Colombian black and/or native)
Gökhan Inler (Turkish Swiss)
Jesus Christ (Jewish)
Samuel Eto’o (Cameroonian)
Mario Balotelli (black Italian)
Ricardo Quaresma (mixed white and gypsy)
Total: 13. That doesn’t seem too bad at first glance, but I suspect most of them are in drabbles; if you count only the characters who featured in long, in-depth character studies/porn, I think that makes five. Having said that, most of the white characters I’ve written were only in drabbles as well, and when I tried to tot them up I lost count. So I actually have no idea what the results of my survey are. Oh, well.
On a less sombre note: TP Mazembe’s hair!
First, the black-and-white striped chap. I like how he’s matched his hair to his kit. Very chic.
But a-ha, that’s only the half of it!
The goalie is actually my favourite. <3
This gadge has gone for plain old white. HOW BORING.
