Racing Games - U Con

I had a cool idea for a tournament at the next U Con: a racing games tournament.

Not Kniza; I had to go look, it's by Thorsten Gimmler, whom I've not heard of before. Kniza does real strategy type stuff usually, I think, puzzly, though maybe I'm thinking of the wrong guy; I can never keep straight who designed what, except when I'm actually shopping for a new game, after that, it just flies out of my head.

Yeah, we have Mille Bornes, but other than that, this one's the closest.*grin* It's a fairly pretty game, you lay out cards for the course as you go along, and it's got some interesting twists besides the race to play around with. We don't play two player games very often either, actually. Maybe playing some more would be fun, though. I bought this one when my wife was in the hospital a couple years ago. It was funny, the surgeon came in to talk to us and kept losing track of what he was saying, looking at the game we were playing: cards with mountains and rivers and stuff all over the place, little wooden ravens thrown around. He finally had to ask, it was a very human moment, which don't seem to happen very often when surgeon talks to patient.:)
