X-Men First Class

Not understanding the love. One hour into X-Men First Class and I gotta say, I'm not impressed. The plot is tedious. Soviet plots are done already. Charles is annoying; he's so moral and pacifist but mind invasion and imperius? A-okay and so much fun, yay (or something). The teenage mutant ninja turtles are incredibly cheesy (why are they all teens and where are their parents?) and I don't understand why they need to be in this movie anyway.

ETA: 120 minutes. Does music run through this entire movie or what? It's supposed to ramp up the tension but just ends up being distracting. I'm also not buying McAvoy's Charles Xavier at all. Especially as this man supposedly grows up to be Patrick Stewart.

ETA2: I've finished the movie and I'm sorry. I can't stop complaining. The nonstop music is excruciating. Erik Lensherr makes super-villains boring; dude has zero charisma. There's also no believable motivation for his complete descent into evil (and maybe that's because of the acting and dialogue :/). Charles exhibits annoying Gary Stu tendencies who thinks he's goddamn reasonable (lol). Also, threatening to read someone's mind? So charming. I don't even understand why evil Nazi guy thinks setting off nuclear bombs won't kill mutants as we've seen they can be killed with much less. The DRAMATIC SLOW-MO was hilarious. "You should go with him?" (lol, so reasonable) Also, this was so not "the slashiest movie of the summer", not even close. Come on, now.
