Hey, so I have a question about this. Did your wisdom teeth grow in ages ago and you just now had them removed, or did this happen recently? Because I've read somewhere that some people's wisdom teeth never grow in and I was told that it was really weird that I had hit 21 and still they haven't appeared. But you're older than I am...
I guess I'm just trying to be on top of things, because for the last five years every time I feel a bit of a toothache I'm like, "my wisdom teeth are coming!" and then they don't appear to do so. I dunno, I guess I'm stupid about this, and try to make sure I know what's up because I have such good dental hygiene that I haven't been to the dentist since, uh, 11th grade, when I only went because of this weird jaw problem I had developed that he seemed to have known about for quite some time and just neglected to mention it (his justification was that he didn't tell me because it couldn't really be fixed and it really would never be a problem, but see, here I was freaking out about it and apparently it's like no big deal).
Well anyway, I hope you're feeling less bizarre by the time you read this. I have never passed out myself but I imagine that I would be pretty terrified since I am not really the passing out type, but at least you have a probable cause. It would be really scary if it were for no reason at all.
Well, my wisdom teeth have been there for a while. I could have gotten them taken out a couple of years ago, but there was never a time that I could afford to stop playing the oboe for that long. Besides, none of them had broken through the gums yet, so it wasn't that big of a deal.
About a year ago one of them did break through my gums, so I made the appointment to get them taken out. Apparently that's when they cause problems, because they're likely to get infected with food getting stuck back there. So if they never emerge, you're probably okay. They could be uber-impacted (stuck behind other teeth) and won't ever come through. It's even possible that you don't have any--since you haven't been to the dentist in so long, you wouldn't have an x-ray recent enough to tell you.
So I say, don't worry about it until you have to. You might be one of the lucky ones!
I hope so. It's kind of like losing luggage, I think...I get worried because it's never happened that it will one day, soon. I've never really had any dental problems and it seems so unlikely that the universe would let me escape unscathed. Especially since my teeth are about the only thing in line. If nature messes them up I will have nothing! Although I did recently learn that all my luggage got lost when I was a baby or something. I don't think I grew my wisdom teeth in as a baby, though.

Also, now I want soup.
