My what an eventful Saturday O_O

Feb 04, 2007 11:03

Saturday was very eventful for me, in an unconventional way haha. Usually you hear about the clubbing or the parties.. but mine happened to be during the daylight hours. I was sleeping at night, go figure.

It started with an early 8AM Writing Skills Test that SJSU students are required to take before they're allowed to take upper division courses. Boo. It lasted until 10:30 and let me say, my proctor was not very friendly. She looked maybe a year or two older than me.. she was on quite the power trip.

I headed over to my grandmother's house, I try to stop by whenever I have time (and the energy) to visit. She usually feeds me anyhow, that's what grandparents do best. Today was special however, not the average visit to her house since my cousin that goes to Berkeley and his sister were also coming over for lunch. Gosh, I haven't seen them since Thanksgiving! I asked my grandma what time they were coming and she said that he told her 12pm but "God knows what time that REALLY means." haha, asians and their lack of punctuality =X (yes yes.. I contribute too.. blame my mom.. but I am getting better!) She was in the middle of preparing lunch so I decided to help her. I love my grandmother's cooking.. everything she makes is so simple yet TASTY! I'm always asking her how to make stuff in case I decide to try my hand at one of her dishes, mainly because I want to make it for Philip though, haha. So I got a full fledge lesson. 12 o'clock rolls around and my grandma gets a call. Yeap, it's my cousin but he's not here, he'll be an hour late because of traffic??!?!?! but it's a Saturday!!!!!!! haha oh well. My grandma and I get to eat the freshly prepared meal before those two then. My was it yummy in my tummy. I stuffed my tummy full of food and headed off back to school.

My history teacher told us of an Equality silent march being held on campus and if we attend, we'll get 20 extra credit points! 20 extra credit points? That's 20% of a test grade. So of course, I went. It was.. interesting. I guess. All I know is I spent about an hour "marching silently" in the sun and ended up stinky with a headache. The headache I blame on the test earlier that morning though. But from being at the march, a professor was there advocating a bill for Civil Works in the Gulf Coast. That definitely caught my eye. It will provide 100,000 jobs to citizens to held rebuild their community - similar to what Roosevelt did for our country (The Golden Gate Bridge was a Civil Works Project). Anyhow, there is a movement within colleges supporting this bill, so if you are in college.. or will be next year.. look around for more information. Remember the unemployment rate has been climbing and this would be a start in the relief of that problem.

there ends my productivity to the day around 2pm.

I went home, showered, and slept pretty much until this morning. =X hate those migraines.

Yay! SUPERBOWL = chips + dip + bbq (my family are big football fans)

Thanks again for tuning in, this one's an earful. Smile! It's a great day today =)
