La Marée Noire" to be released AUGUST 2008!!

AUGUST 2008: Singer/songwriter Cherie Pyne, a.k.a. Slippery Rabbits, is heading home to Newfoundland to release 3rd solo album "La Marée Noire". The 8 song cd will be available from Fred's Records in St. John's after August 10th, and the official cd release party will be Thursday, August 28th at the Ship. A Montreal cd release party will follow in September 2008.
A beautiful and dark album of 8 songs penned by Pyne with her Montreal backing band Slippery Rabbits, "La Marée Noire" (french for "The Black Tide") is Pyne's first release since "Little Springboard" in 2006. The album is also part art project, with homemade cases sewn by Pyne from used street maps and hand lino-printed, and a handmade lyric book enclosed inside.
