4th grade - i started realizing that peabody dance teachers respected more if i wore my hair in a bun rather than in braids. i learned out to make the perfect ballet bun and then over time it evolved into a messier version of a ballet bun which is what it is today, or not so much today since the hair lady told me that i should wear my hair down all the time or else i'll go bald or something.
