Taking his phone Reita dialed up Naoko.
“Reita! Finally!”
“You wanted me to call you when I got up?” Reita asked timidly, contrary to his usual self-assured, manly self.
“You read my message, I gather.” came the rather cold reply.
“Yeah. I did...”
“Reita, what happened? I thought that everything was fine between the two of us?”
“Everything is fine between us.”
"So, then do you have anything to say in your defense?"
"I was wasted?"
"Not good enough"
“I really don’t remember! I was wasted! I have no clue what I did. Ruki filled me in a little on what happened.” Reita almost yelled.
“You don’t remember?”
“No. That’s just what I told you.”
“So that means that you were wasted off your ass last night...”
“.....”
“I went to dance with the girls. We were having fun and enjoying ourselves. I just turned around to look at you and there you were. Eating each others faces and practically having sex, right there on the table.”
“That’s not what Ruki told me,” Reita mumbled. No big deal he said. “Then what happened?”
“I got so mad at you for not telling me anything, and for doing such things right in front of me and embarrassing me in front of my friends, that I left.”
“Oh... I seriously don’t remember a thing.”
“Reita! I don’t want to hear it. Just let me think about things…”
Before he could reply to her, Naoko had already hung up. Putting his phone away and taking out another cigarette, Reita sat down to think.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ruki had lost count of the hours; how long had he been sitting there just staring at the wall? The annoyingly white, dull wall. He needed to buy some posters or something. The wall was just too dull. If only his mind could be as dull as the wall. And why on earth was he still thinking about the wall?! Pictures of Reita were swarming in his alcohol abused brain. Dirty thoughts about his best friend weren’t ones Ruki wanted to have. Thinking about the wall was a crappy diversion, but still, it was a diversion. He needed to get up and do something. Anything. Now.
Ruki stood up and opted for having a nice, warm, cup of tea and maybe watching some generic TV-show, something that didn't have anything to do with Reita, anything that would take his mind off of things.
For a long time Ruki had dreamed about kissing Reita, being close to him and other sappy scenarios. Thanks to fate he had finally gotten the chance to kiss Reita, but also thanks to fate it had only happened because one drunken Reita wanted make his girlfriend jealous.
"That stupid fuck...” Ruki mumbled to himself, while grabbing a cup of tea and heading back towards the couch. Turning on the TV and searching for something to watch, he happened to stumble across one channel that was playing their PV for Guren. Reita had now invaded his TV-set as well! That was just great! Just what the doctor ordered.
Grunting in distaste Ruki switched off the TV. He needed some fresh air. He walked over to the balcony door and stepped outside. The air was cool and calming. He sat down on one of the chairs that stood outside and stared out at the scenery. His mind started to drift to Reita, once again; those soft lips, that muscular body, those eyes that entranced him ever so much. He loved Reita, as something more than a friend, but unfortunately for him, Reita was in a relationship, with a girl none the less and Ruki was lost. The scene from the night before started to play in his mind.
“What the fuck does she think she’s doing? Is she trying to make me jealous?” Reita’s words were a bit slurred.
“I think that, that’s called dancing...”
“She does this every fucking time! I’m sick of it. I’m going to give her a dose of what she deserves! Ruki, come here!”
Peering at him suspiciously, Ruki shifted closer.
.
“No. Closer.”
Eyebrows were raised in suspicion. “Why?”
“Don’t ask. Just do as you’re told.”
Ruki shifted closer. Once he was close enough, Reita grabbed him and moved his head closer to Ruki’s. Ruki struggled a bit, confused as to what was happening. Then out of nowhere, he felt them, those soft lips against his.
At first Ruki didn’t respond, only sat there in a state of utter shock. As Reita’s kisses grew more and more demanding, Ruki started to respond to them. He moved his lips against Reita’s soft lips, in a hungry kiss. He had yearned for this for so long. Reita seemed to be as lost in the moment as Ruki. Wanting to deepen the kiss Ruki tilted his head a bit and parted his lips. As he did so, Reita slipped his tongue in and devoured the sweet taste of the smaller man exploring every last bit of his mouth. Reita was like a lion. Savoring every bit of its kill.
Neither seemed to care about the fact that Reita’s girlfriend was there and that she could see them. They continued devouring each other. And at some point Reita grew so bold, as to start touching Ruki through his clothes. Rubbing him and massaging him. Ah! The bliss that Ruki felt was heavenly. Reluctantly and whimpering, Ruki pulled away.
“Rei...stop.”
“Why? You liked it.”
Looking around Ruki noticed that Naoko and her friends where nowhere in sight.
“Your plan must have worked. Naoko is nowhere in sight. And I think that it’s better that I go home too. Before things get out of hand.”
“Ruki. Please. Come on. We were having fun.”
“No, Rei. You were trying to make your girlfriend jealous by kissing me. That’s all that it was. Now I’m going home. Tell the guys that I said goodnight.” With that he walked off.
Ruki shook his head. What would have happened had he stayed? Would Reita have continued with his little exploration into the world of gay and bisexual people or would he have realized what he was doing and run away? Ruki doubted the second part of his question since Reita had been so eager to get back to where they had left off. But, then again, Reita was probably the straightest guy that Ruki knew. How could he have come to a different decision all of a sudden? Nothing made sense.
Dragging his fingers through his hair and growling at himself, Ruki walked back into the apartment and plopped back on the sofa. His mind in disarray.
