Halloween is tomorrow and there are a lot of people who don’t celebrate it because it is “evil” and a “pagan” holiday. Well, if you don’t celebrate Halloween then you shouldn’t celebrate Christmas.
True, Halloween was founded by pagans based on fall harvests, and they worshipped their earthly gods. They believed that the spirits of the dead, demons, and fairies would roam around the earth. They dressed up like those things too for protection and fun. The ancient Celtic people of Ireland celebrated this way. Now, Halloween is about candy, little kids, parties.
What are the origins of Christmas? Jesus was born on December 25th right? No, he was born during the spring. Read the bible.
In another religion of Zoroastrianism, the Persian savior Mithras was born on December 25th, 2000 years before Jesus. Coincidence?
Also, where in the bible does it talk about the actual holiday of Christmas? Sure, the three kings (there were actually only two of them with servants, and they were from Persia and not from allover) gave Jesus presents on his birthday, but that’s about it.
What’s the deal with this Christmas tree?
Pagans celebrated the winter solstice with evergreen trees as a sign of everlasting life. Vikings in Scandinavia thought that evergreens were the special plant of the sun god, so they would burn Yule logs and decorate trees and whatnot. The mistletoe was very sacred to the druids. They would hang it in a door as a welcome to guests. Kissing under it was a sign of friendship.
So, are you a pagan? Then why are you dragging a tree in you house and turning it into an alter?
My point is, if you celebrate Christmas then why not celebrate Halloween? Both originate from paganism and both are very important in American culture. In fact, I’ll go ahead and say that they’re American holidays, because we celebrate them differently than everyone else anyways. So, not celebrating Halloween would be un-American.
Without Halloween, this yound man will miss his childhood.
O yeah, I turned 20 a few days ago. I'm old as shit.
