An Cafe live at O2 Academy Islington 7/11

Nov 08, 2012 00:35

I'm kind of suffering a slight headache which might be either from inhaling too much carbon dioxide or the strobe lights giving me a slight epileptic side effect. Or both.

Anyway, I can explain it as much as I can before my mind will erase part of it. Bear in mind that this is my first live report, so I'm not good at explaining the details as fine as most do.

I arrived at around a quarter to 5 to where the livehouse will be, and noticed the line already there despite the livehouse saying no early queuing. I didn't know how long it was until I checked later on from the corner, so from that time I thought that this year's number is less than before. Which is true.

I was alone and sort of sticking out like a sore thumb since 1) I look like any passerby, 2) Nobody that I know of in the UK would want to join along with me and 3) I had no little group to join in to while away the boredom. Eventually I found someone who is just as lonely as I am and I thought "Hell, might as well start a conversation with her since we're in the same situation."

It was a good decision and we got off right away. The stranger told me her name is Denise, and she is from Romania, and 2 years younger than me. She was here for the An Cafe concert since she got a week to come here with her brother, sister-in-law and mother.  I didn't regret it since I didn't like the idea of watching the live by myself without someone to be by my side at least. I played the game called "Guess the Gender/Age of Jrockers" with her with pictures from my iPod.

Her sister-in-law was awesome. Despite not being interested in An Cafe, she helped us in putting away our coats and bags to the cloakroom while we go ahead. I took my time to quickly buy some tour merchandise since I kind suspected that it might be hard to do so later on.

What to say of attending my first live in the UK? To be honest, I treat it as though it's my exams. I'm kind of nervous about it at first, and then later I just don't worry anymore and just let the events unfold by itself.

The live started at 8pm. The first to come out was Teruki, then Yuuki, Kanon, Takuya and Miku respectively. Although the number of people there are less than I expected, it was still packed.

I have a feeling that most of the members who look at the live might be a bit curious as to why I don't move much, scream much or do much but stare at them. It was because I was holding the merchandise in one hand, while trying to hold on to Denise on my right hand so I wouldn't lose her. Mostly, it's because I don't really like to participate in all that action. I enjoyed the live immensely, but I just show it in a quiet demeanor. So don't think that I'm a killjoy of sorts, that's the way on how I act.

Now here's the setlist based on my shitty memory. And by shitty, I meant that I cannot possibly remember some of it chronologically:

1. メープルガンマン (Maple Gunman)
2. 覚醒ヒロイズム (Kakusei Heroism)
3. テケスタ光線 (Tekesuta Kousen)
---MC---
4. 我侭行進曲
5. エスカピズム
6. Cherry咲く勇気!!
7. じぶん説明書
---Member introduction---
8. Nyappy in the world 4 -般ニャ化教のテーマ-
9. アメージングブルー (amazing blue)
10. スノーシーン
---ENCORE--
1. BondS ~絆~
2. スマイル一番 イイ♀

The live lasted for an hour and a half. To be honest, although the setlist was great, I was kind of disappointed that only 2 out of 7 songs from the latest mini-album were only used in it. And there were no songs coming from the 4th album, BB Parallel World.

Interesting stuffs have happened, though. Especially at the encore.

During BondS, Miku stripped his shirt off to show off his his lean but slightly muscled body, along with his tattoo on his left arm and  his light blue underwear. The tattoo didn't surprise me that much, nor the hair growing from his armpits. I was just surprised that he actually stripped for this tour.

Creeper voice: Those are some nice looking Calvin Klein underwear you got there. It would be too bad if someone were to rip it off of you. /bricked

XDDD

And then he spat out water to the crowd. I got drops of it landing on my face since I was right in the middle of the crowd.

And after the encore, they came out to take some gifts from the fans. The highlight for the fans is Kanon picking up the Union Jack flag which were signed by fans. After taking a picture of it, Miku promptly tied it up as a mantle for Yuuki. Then Teruki spun him around so that Miku can blindfold Yuuki with a towel. After that's done, Teruki took out a toy hammer to hit Yuuki on the waist area. XD

And Miku actually lift Yuuki up to sit on his shoulders. owo

If any of you were wondering where I was during the live, I was at around the 5th-6th row close to the left at first. But at some point from all the pushing, shoving, and body humping, we somehow ended up at the 3rd-4th row in the middle. Ironically, I saw Kanon the most throughout the live despite my doubts that I can see him because of a head blocking my sight from the left stage. Miku is tied with him at this, followed by Takuya, Yuuki and Teruki.

I was really close to the stage, to be honest. Close enough to be able to see Miku wearing a safety pin on his right ear as an earring, his tattoo, his underwear, Yuuki's bunny boots, and most of the members who stood in the front.

I can tell that they were tired, but were happy to be back in London. And it was worth it to watch my first Jrock live. :3

Also, don't worry waifu, I bought you the T-shirt. But it's in L size, so I'm not sure if it will too big for you /w\

I can't wait for them to return next year =w=d

That's allー(· ∀ ·)
