Oh, yes, I've read a few sci-fi books that I enjoyed, too. I always have a hard time finding ones that sound interesting, though. I know I read two for adolescent lit.... one was called "Double Helix" and the other was... um... "A Crack in the Line". Both really interesting. I have an interest in stuff about DNA and time splits/travel. I haven't heard of Kurt Vonnegut before. (Looked him up just now.) Oh, and I loved Animorphs when I was little; I suppose that counts.
Lessee... favorite authors aside from the adorementioned author of firekeeper... Tamora Pierce, Tanith Lee. Dragons and unicorns and magic and talking animals... those are my thing. =D Haha. Manga. I'm actually at a point where I have a lot of manga I need to read on my shelf. I purchased some complete series/lots and haven't finished them yet. e-e; Vampire Knight and Ultra Maniac and the last volume of Dream Saga.
I know I've said mine in chat a bunch of times. Last name too, once. Maybe I'm just too trusting, but it doesn't bother me at all. *shrug* It's Michelle, by the way.
I don't like sci-fi that gets all... technical. I guess that's why I adore Star Wars but could never get into Star Trek. Maybe. Kurt Vonnegut is fantastic and I really love his work. I've been a fan of his since I was young. I highly recommend his books. ^^
I'm a huge Mercedes Lackey fan, myself. And David Eddings, and Tanya Huff. I have a ton of unread manga right now too. I'm trying to get though it, but I also have a bunch of novels I need to read, and video games to play... and of course RP is always distracting... there just aren't enough hours in the day. XD
