you are the only exception...

(haven't updated in a while yet again...i'm thinking maybe this blog shall be for when i feel this pressing need to express myself in writing and when i want to have this entry remembered forever...somewhere...)

ended another stint @ PGS yesterday...bittersweet...i loved working there even though it is just as a temporary receptionist...but it was the 'fun-nest' 3 weeks of my holidays...hard to believe but true...

i've heard countless accounts of people complaining about Monday blues...being bored at work...trying ways and means to do anything ese but work when they're at work...but all these couldn't be applied to my time here...:)

second time around...everything seems quite familiar...just a couple of new faces...but the bulk of them still remembered me from the last time i was there...my days there consisted mostly of smiling and people asking about my day...even if it was but a passing comment to them - since most ogoodwillf them were Caucasians as is the custom for them - i found it oddly refreshing...work culture was a lot more relaxed, probably due to the festive season...other then the regular job scope of guarding the pantry and couriers and mails, i spent a good deal of my spare free time on facebook and gmail chat (as can be attested by kx) and reading manga...plus who could forget MLIA!!!...*hearts many*...undoubtedly THESE probably contributed my towards the company... =p

{one more thing - the CUTE GUY on my bus...well that's provided i took the later bus...unfortunately i think he went back to his home country towards the end...cos' i really WAS late in catching the bus...then again maybe i was TOO LATE in catching the bus...;) }

some were friendlier than usual than others...people like PZ and KJ, especially CT and CC...(not too nice to mention their real names since some are high-ranking officials in the company...)people who were genuinely interested to know me as a person...i had a good many laughs while i was minding my own business at the recep desk...little things like these made my day...unbelieveable again but true.

i'd say this is the first job in a long time which i actually looked forward to working each day in the week...my wish is that when i graduate i'd be able to find a job which i find joy in doing, challenging and engaging me to always do my best at my assigned tasks...probably impossible but one can always hope right..?

my time here has also confirmed one more thing - nice people ARE found everywhere...it may take some effort to meet them but sometimes a simple smile would do the trick... :D

*the title is from a song i'm obsessed with right now...it seems oddly apt somehow...

Paramore - The Only Exception
When I was younger
I saw my daddy cry
And curse at the wind
He broke his own heart
And I watched
As he tried to reassemble it

And my momma swore that
She would never let herself forget
And that was the day that I promised
I'd never sing of love
If it does not exist

But darling,
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception

Maybe I know, somewhere
Deep in my soul
That love never lasts
And we've got to find other ways
To make it alone
Keep a straight face

And I've always lived like this
Keeping a comfortable, distance
And up until now
I had sworn to myself that I'm
Content with loneliness

Because none of it was ever worth the risk

Well, You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception

I've got a tight grip on reality
But I can't
Let go of what's in front of me here
I know you're leaving
In the morning, when you wake up
Leave me with some kind of proof it's not a dream

Ohh---

You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception
You, are, the only exception

And I'm on my way to believing
Oh, And I'm on my way to believing

cest la vie, shiawase
