Love Like Hawkeye and Hot Lips

I saw the "Singing In Korean" clip from the Colbert Report, and it was very cute and sexy! XD It's odd to see two of my fandoms come together, especially ones as prominent in my life as Asian pop and pundits. I know Colbert showed a clip of Morning Musume before (A..err...report here), but this is different. This is focusing less of poking fun at Asian culture than at Stephen for losing to a pop singer. The clip was very well done, and Stephen looked pretty hot ^^ I'd love it if Rain were to come onto his show, especially with his planned CD for the American market. A rather good marketing tie-in...

By the way, Steph and I have planned ot vote Maki Goto to number one next year, with Stephen at two, just so he'll have to play "Some Boys!TOUCH". Wonder if he'd do a parody video of that 0_o

Remember me mentioning a few days ago I had a dream with Keith Olbermann in it? Well, I had dreams like that the entire week. Tuesday night's dreams had Hugh Laurie, while Wednesday was not only Anderson Cooper, but also Tucker Carlson and Joe Scarborough. Thursday had Jon Stewart in it, but sadly, no Colbert. They were really strange though. 1863_project and I think it has to do with my lack of TV recently, and these dreams are wish fufilment.

Recently, I've been really into the British band Muse and Japanese singer Olivia. I only have one album by them each, but I downloaded some Olivia songs, and I plan on getting the rest of Muse's CDs soon. Whenever I listen to their songs, I think of the comic Steph and I are working on. I imagine one of the story's bands, The Fat Flamigoes, to sound like Muse, because the lead singer is flamboyant like the FF's lead singer, Noeru, and are very experimental and strange. Olivia's NANA songs are exactly how I imagine the other band in the story, Zenobia-a good mix of pretty vocals and melodies with strong guitars and drums.

I haven't watched the Bleach anime in weeks. I actually think I'm getting kinda sick of it and gravitating towards the manga more. I don't read the scans since I hate reading comics on my computer screen, but I'm buying Viz's graphic novels and I prefer the way Tite Kubo tells stories much better. The anime has a tendency to feel a bit choppy, where the manga is very smooth and has a "cool" feel that anime kinda has but not to the extent of the manga. Plus, there's no filler in the manga, but there is Tite Kubo's amazing Engrish chapter titles! XD

Three items are being released in the coming weeks that I'm really excited about-GAM's debut CD, Rufus Wainwright's new album, and the first DVD of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. ^^ I'm planning on waiting for AnimeNEXT to get the MoHS DVD, but I'll probably get the CDs before then. The Haruhi Suzumiya release is being done really well-the box looks gorgeous, and I love all the extras, such as CDs, pillowcases, and cosplay accesories that are going to come with the special edition releases. I think that the ASOS Brigade videos will be on future DVDs, which I can't wait to see, since they were very funny and cute in an amateur way. Bandai's marketing=<3
