WHY ARE WE A FAIL TEAM. NOW JOHAN. I DO NOT KNOW.
In other less troubling but equally as brain-breaky news, I watched the new season of Haruhi Suzumiya!
I only have one episode to go- I definitely needed to take a break after Endless Eight! It was definitely interesting in theory, how they were trying to make the viewers feel the frustration of the cast, particularly Yuki, though it was annoying. And I kind of like that the solution was rather mundane, I thought it fit with the feel of the show. And hey, I made it through! That makes me a true Haruhiist! :DDD
Also, it is the (day after) beautiful, amazing, sparkly Miyabi Natsuyaki's birthday! If I wasn't so busy with moving into my dorm, I would've had her card done today. I'll probably finish it tonight and post it tomorrow, along with a huge Miyabi appreciation post, like what I did with José, but smaller, because my obsession with her (and my obsession with anyone else I have an obsession with) pales in comparison to my ridiculous, psychotic love for José.
By the way, my own birthday is the twenty-ninth! Originally I was supposed to go to last weekend's Demi Lovato concert as a present, but since that got moved I might have a different party-type thing with my mother (I always celebrate my birthday with my mother instead of with friends).
Went to Yankee Stadium last night with my Yankee fan brother.
I'm kind of indifferent to who wins the series (re: I'm fuckin' confused who to root for), but I wanted to see the Yankees lose the night I went. And I did :D I wore my Lester shirt and got heckled quite a bit- some were nice about it (I met a Jewish Yankee fan who was friendly chatting with, and seeing my Star of David necklace, he wished me a Happy New Year ♥), and some were jerks (re: drunk). I sat in the third level above the field, so at first I was totally freaked out by the height, but I got used to it. I sat behind this teenage girl who seemed to be as obsessed with Nick Swisher as I am with José Reyes, and she was very amusing and cute. There was food EVERYWHERE, even sushi and noodles! The building itself seemed a little cold and blah, but my seat was comfortable and the food I got was good. I find it odd though that you're not allowed to go stand by the dugouts like in other parks- and I really wanted to try to get signatures from the Rangers players, particularly Kinsler, or at least take pictures of BP. I wonder why they do that...fun game though, it was super exciting at the end, though I'm sure I wouldn't be as excited about it had the Yankees won...
Oh, and I saw a guy wearing a "Godzilla 55" jersey for Hideki Matsui, and a woman in a Mussina shirt. Those actually kinda made me happy xD
This past injury to Davey and his possible comeback in early September has made me rethink my feelings towards him. I wrote this rant a few days ago in a notebook and I'll post it here.
When I first heard Davey was first hit, I almost stopped breathing. It was then that I realized I liked Davey more than I had allowed myself too. In all honestly, I really do love the guy. But I don't love the oh-isn't-he-perfect image that he is often portrayed as in the media. I love the imperfect Davey that actually exists, the one who is too stubborn and determined for his own good. The one who is sweet and polite, but also a little closed off and lonely. The one is not always the best at being outgoing and a leader, who is learning to be that. The one who is a little too naïve and goody-two shoes and girly. The one who got hit in the head by a pitch and might need to be out until late September instead of the early September he wants and will get (he should play a little this season because, as my dad mentioned, it's important to make sure he gets over a fear of the ball like many guys who get hit in the head get, and it's probably not a good idea to let that steam over the offseason). I like that guy. He's human, you can root for him.
I wouldn't be surprised if my feelings also had steamed a little from the perception that as a female Mets fan I though Davey was the HAWTEST GAI EVAR!!! or something while I actually don't think that, and that the non-Latino white guy was put out as the perfect one, while the equally or even more talented Latino ones were nitpicked and deemed imperfect.
Whose t-shirt or jersey would I own? Per MLB team.
Baltimore Orioles: Adam Jones...ever since I voted for him in the All-Star, I've felt an attachment to him...
Boston Red Sox: Since I already own Papelbon, Manny, Lester, and Masterson...JayBay! I love the guy so much- his bat is starting to heat up again too :D And I just have a giant love of Canada! xD
New York Yankees: Mike Mussina. IDK, I always liked him- he's very intelligent and seems like someone who it would be great to talk to plus he's attractive xD
Tampa Bay Rays: Evan Longoria or Carlos Peña. Longo is just adorable and weird, and I fell for Peña after reading
this interview.
Toronto Blue Jays: Marco Scutaro. I've watched too much Canadian teen dramas to not find that a short guy named Marco in Toronto actually exists extremely amusing. Adam Lind is one I might buy,
middlerelief kinda made me love him.
Cleveland Indians: Rick Astley Justin Masterson. Maybe if I buy his shirt he'll pitch better in Cleveland?
Chicago White Sox: Ozzie Guillen (yeah, I know, not a player, but whatevs, totes still counts) He amuses me, and I think the JI JIM THOME shirts are out-of-stock since everyone else bought them xD
Detroit Tigers: Curtis Granderson. I love this guy- he is so perfect that it seems unreal, but he actually seems totally down-to-earth. He's an awesome baseball player, he is involved in his community, he's great to the fans, he's super hot, and HE GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE. You know only twenty-five other major leaguers managed to do that, right? Fuck he's awesome...
Kansas City Royals: Kyle Farnsworth. You know why.
Minnesota Twins: Joe Mauer. He's just so amusing and sexy to me. If it's true he raps as well...welp, he might just be a superhero xD
Los Angeles Anaheim Angels: Torii Hunter. He's very fun to watch play, and an interesting guy...
Oakland A's: Barry Zito. I'm pretty sure he recorded that horrid song while an A, right?....
Seattle Mariners: Ichiro Suzuki. Most badass person EVER. Hilariously quotable.
Texas Rangers: Ian Kinsler. Totes
sheep_mambo's fault. IDK, he looks like an older version of my brother, I just think he is adorable and I want to hug him and tease him and then rat him out to mom xD
Atlanta Braves: Brian McCann! I love his glasses, he seems like a sweetheart, he's great at baseball,
he loves puppies, and he's Frenchy's boyfriend- where could you go wrong?
Florida Marlins: Josh Beckett. Little Becky, a person who actually smiled, ftw!
New York Mets: I already have Reyes, Santana, Pelfrey, and Piazza, so I'll go with Murph, since I really want that green one. Or, you know, I'm always down for another José shirt ;P Frenchy would not be bad either...
Philadelphia Phillies: PHANATIC, EVEN IF HE IS DAVEY'S LEAST FAVORITE MASCOT. I'd get a Victorino shirt if it came with a hula skirt attached though xD
Washington Natinals: Ryan Zimmerman, because I am growing to love him. ♥ I would want it to say "Natinals" in the front though xD
Chicago Cubs: I don't know shit about the Cubs. I'm going to go with something similar to the other Chicago team and say Lou Piniella. He is most amusing...
Cincinnati Reds: Joey Votto. I know
1863_project is a fan....
Houston Astros: Lance Berkman or Wandy Rodriguez. They're the only Astros I know exist xD
Milwaukee Brewers: Ryan Braun or Prince Fielder. They are crazy mofos who hit really well, and I love them both.
Pittsburgh Pirates: Roberto Clemente...I don't think I need to explain why ;)
St Louis Cardinals: Lugo! :D IDK, that he is good now amuses me...I also quite like Yadi, I might buy his shirt, his arm makes me feel all woozy xD
Arizona Diamondbacks: Danny Haren. I do not know much about the DBacks, but he's a really good pitcher that gets overlooked....
Colorado Rockies: Tulo, I guess? I don't know much about the Rockies...
Los Angeles Dodgers: Juan Pierre. I love Manny and all, but Pierre>>>Ramírez. Just sayin'.
San Diego Padres: Adrian González. IDK why, I've really liked him all season...
San Francisco Giants: Timmy Lincecum, or course! My boy! I'm actually going to order a Timmy shirt...
Also,
i can has tumbler nao. Add me!
