...and this makes me VERY, VERY HAPPY. So happy I drew fanart, and then did this to it...
Myspace Glitter Graphics Er, sorry for the eyesore xD Un-blingeed image
here. As you can see in the picture, Wake is a little confused by this new-fangled term, "GQ Motherfucker", that you kids created on your interwebs, and by the random floating glitter that makes him wonder if he walked into Papi's closet xD
But, yeah, this makes me so happy. Wake has worked hard throughout the years, and for him to be pitching so well this year and to make the All-Star Team just is amazing. He deserves it so much. Before all the pics were made, I thought to myself that if Wake doesn't make it, I will not watch the game, because he is pitching extremely well and he deserves to get on the All-Star Team finally. And he did, so YAY!
AMERICAN LEAGUE STARTERS
First Base:
My pick: Kevin Youkilis, BOS
Winner: Mark Teixeira, NYY- Obvously, not something I'm happy with, but he has been doing really well recently, though I thought Youk deserved it more. This was a last-minute win though, so a surprise a bit.
Second Base:
My pick: Dustin Pedroia, BOS
Winner: Dustin Pedroia, BOS- Yay, I got it right! One point for me!
Shortstop:
My pick: Marco Scutaro, TOR
Winner: Derek Jeter, NYY- Nothing says, "ASG IS A POPULARITY CONTEST," like this. Scutaro totes deserved this more. Fuck Jeter.
Third Base:
My pick: Evan Longoria, TB
Winner: Evan Longoria, TB- again, I got it right. Point number two!
Catcher:
My pick: Joe Mauer, MIN
Winner: Joe Mauer, MIN- Yay, another point for me! Three points!
Outfield:
My pick: Jason Bay, BOS
Winner: Jason Bay, BOS- Four...
My pick: Ichiro Suzuki, SEA
Winner: Ichiro Suzuki, SEA- Five....
My pick: Adam Jones, BAL
Winner: Josh Hamilton, TEX- Okay, so no win. Not like most people were going to vote for a Baltimore player anyways. I thought he was injured though...
NATIONAL LEAGUE STARTERS
First Base:
My pick: Adrián González, SD
Winner: Albert Pujols, STL- Not unexpected. Pujols deserves this spot the most with tear he's been on recently, and because he's a Cardinal. When I voted, González was more worthy in my mind, but Pujols is now.
Second Base:
My pick: Orlando Hudson, LAD
Winner: Chase Utley, PHI- NO. In the words of Chutley, BOO VOTERS. FUCK YOU VOTERS.
Shortstop:
My pick: José Reyes, NYM
Winner: Hanley Ramírez, FLA- Obviously José wasn't going to win, and he shouldn't have, I only voted out of fangirlish devotion/loyalty. But, c'mon, isn't there someone better than HanRam out there? He's an amazing hitter, but he can't play defense, and that is important in a shortstop.
Third Base:
My pick: David Wright, NYM/ Ryan Zimmerman, WAS
Winner: David Wright, NYM- Another point for me- six! But really, I'm nost sure if Davey deserves this, as he's been complete shit recently. And the left side of the infield will be Davey and HanRam- I think together, they will set a record for the most errors in an All-Star Game xD
Catcher:
My pick: Brian McCann, ATL
Winner: Yadier Molina, STL- While I think McCann and his adorable glasses deserved it more, Yadi's still a great choice, and he's a Cardinal.
Outfield:
My pick: Ryan Braun, MIL
Winner: Ryan Braun, MIL- Seven...
My pick: Raúl Ibañez PHI
Winner: Raúl Ibañez PHI- Eight...(injured...)
My pick: Carlos Beltrán, NYM
Winner: Carlos Beltrán, NYM- Nine....(injured...) Wow, two-third of the NL outfield will be played by backups xD
AMERICAN LEAGUE BACKUPS
My choices who are backups
Kevin Youkilis, BOS
Adam Jones, BAL
Everyone else
Victor Martinez, CLE- Um, I don't know much about him other than my fellow Boston fans say we should trade for him, so I guess he's good!
Justin Morneau, MIN- Yay, it's Mrs. Mauer, eh! xD
Aaron Hill, TOR- YES! He's put up amazing numbers all year and it's great to see him get recognition. And I admit,
middlerelief's excitedness rubbed off on me a little ;P
Jason Bartlett, TB- NO YOU'RE NOT MARCO SCUTARO I DON'T CARE IF YOU HAVE GREAT STATS GO AWAY STOP BEING A HOMER MADDON.
Michael Young, TEX- I really don't know much about him, but he's a good player and and a good guy, so good for him. goodgoodgoodgood xD
Carl Crawford, TB- Definitely deserves it. Though as a Boston/Jacoby Ellsbury fan, I don't think I'm supposed to say that...xD
Curtis Granderson, DET- *drools* I almost voted for him, but I didn't think his stats were good enough. I still love him though. And I hope he get substantial playing time, so I can look at him! < /pink hat>
Torii Hunter, LAA- Wow, I didn't realize he had great stats! That's what I get for living on the east coast, I guess. Torii's awesome-sauce, so yay!
Ben Zobrist, TB- Okay, sometimes homerism is good. Zobrist has been great this year, and definitely deserves this!
NATIONAL LEAGUE BACKUPS
My choices who are backups
Brian McCann, ATL
Adrian Gonzalez, SD
Orlando Hudson, LAD
Ryan Zimmerman, WSH
Everyone else
Prince Fielder, MIL- I ♥ Prince, so yay World's Fattest Vegan!
Ryan Howard, PHI- I think he's overrated, but whatever, he doesn't bother me that much...
Freddy Sanchez, PIT- Yay! He's been really great for the Pirates, and, um, I have a secret irrational love of the Pirates mainly having to do with their name and a certain Lazytown song...xD So yay!
Miguel Tejada, HOU- He's been doing really well, but I'm still angry about the spot he stole from José last year, so grr...
Brad Hawpe, COL- I remember hearing about a player on Colarado who was doing well a few weeks ago on ESPN, but I couldn't remember his name. I guess it's him, so yay for him!
Hunter Pence, HOU- lol All I think of when I see/hear of him is his Dugout name- ICrappedMyHunerPence. So lol
Justin Upton, ARI- He's been great, and I adore both the Upton brothers, so this is great!
AMERICAN LEAGUE PITCHERS
Andrew Bailey, OAK- Due to being an east coaster, I had to go look up who this guy was since I had never heard of him, but he seems to be pretty good- I take it he's a reliever? I kinda like that about the All-Star Game, finding out about people you've never heard of before!
Josh Beckett, BOS- Wow, really? I'm a Sox fan and I'm a little confused...okay...
Mark Buehrle, CWS- He's not someone who is in the spotlight a lot, but he's a really good pitcher, so good for him. Plus, he's on Obama's favorite team, and Obama will be there, which would be cool for the both of them.
Brian Fuentes, LAA- I don't know much about him other than he was the Mets Plan B, but he has a lot of saves (a high ERA for a closer though, but he gets the job done...)
Zack Greinke, KC- YAY! Obviously, he deserves this, and it's a nice story, with all of his struggles. I hope he gets to start the game!
Roy Halladay, TOR- Uh, DUH. Dude's frickin' amazing.
Felix Hernandez, SEA- I know he's a really good pitcher, but all I can think of when I see/hear of him is how he hit that home run off of Johan...xD
Edwin Jackson, DET- I don't know anything about him, but he has great stats...
Joe Nathan, MIN- YAY ILU JOE NATHAN. u guise i tink i migth b a closet twinz fannnn i luv most off dis team.
Jonathan Papelbon, BOS- *does bad Irish jig without her pants on in celebration*
Mariano Rivera, NYY- One of the few Yankees I like. I still get over how FRANKIE WALKED HIM. lololol I have like, ten pictures of that at-bat on my computer it amuses me so.
Justin Verlander, DET- Um, yay! ♥ Glad he's have a good year. Wait, I'm supposed be a closet Twins fan now, I can't say that...EWW VERLANDER SUCKS.
Tim Wakefield, BOS- I'm mildly excited in this ;)
NATIONAL LEAGUE PITCHERS
Heath Bell, SD- UGH WHY DID WE TRADE THIS GUY OMAR IHU
Chad Billingsley, LAD and Jonathan Broxton, LAD- The Dodgers have had amazing pitching this year, so it's nice to see them represented twice!
Matt Cain, SF- Yay, I like Matt Cain, even though I don't know anything about him. IDK why. He just gets so overshadowed by ~*~the fabulous Timmy~*~ (lol whut i luv timmy), so it's nice to see him get recognition.
Francisco Cordero, CIN- I don't know anything about him, though I've heard his name...he as good stats though
Ryan Franklin, STL- Same situation as above...his stats are fucking ridiculous though...24/7 SO/BB ratio? ♥♥♥ wait lol it says 24/7
Dan Haren, ARI- Wow, I didn't know Danny Haren was doing so well this year, yay for him!
Josh Johnson, FLA- Yes, he is amazing, I'm still recovering from the beatdowns he's given the Mets xD
Ted Lilly, CHC- Didn't know he was doing well...had good stats...I'm indifferent.
Tim Lincecum, SF- TINY TIM!! I hope he doesn't get sick this year...I kinda want him start, because he missed last year and because he won the Cy Young and because his strikeouts are SICK.
Jason Marquis, COL- Didn't know he was doing well...had good stats...I'm indifferent. yes, I'm so indifferent I just copy-pastaed that.
Francisco Rodriguez, NYM- Um, yay! I don't have much to say even though he's a Met!
Johan Santana, NYM- You can make up for snubbing him last year by having start, you know...wait, didn't I just say I wanted Timmy to start? IDK, either is good....xD
As for the final vote, I was hoping that Marco Scutaro and Juan Pierre would be up there, but they weren't so I voted for their teammates! xD Okay, I actually adore Adam Lind, but I don't know shit about Matt Kemp, I just voted for him because he's Juan Pierre's teammate xD
In otherwords, I'm now a Vocaloid addict! My favorite is Kaito, but I lveo them all. I spent all of today/yesterday/two nights ago watching Vocaloid videos. They are so adorable, and the songs are so catchy! Don't be surprised if I draw some fanart soon....after all my requests/contests are done though! xD
