Orihime decided Ichigo was like a butterfly. He was strangely inviting-he didn't try to make people come to him, but they always did. Maybe it was his mysterious scowl that was, for some reason, constantly plastered on his face. Maybe it was his bright orange hair, which was so unusual and interesting, like the colourful wings of a butterfly.
The main reason, however, Orihime thought Ichigo was similar to a butterfly was that she could never catch him. No matter how hard she tried to catch his attention, he only saw her as a friend. She loved him so much that it hurt whenever she saw him with someone else. With him.
Orihime cared for Chad. They were friends, and they both loved Ichigo with all of their hearts. But Ichigo chose him, not her. Like a butterfly, he landed on the person who silently waits for him, not the one who put all of their effort into trying to catch him. Orihime wondered if maybe she didn't try hard enough, if she didn't love him enough. But Chad didn't put much effort into attracting Ichigo that she could see. His love for Ichigo was effortless. They just naturally went together, not needing the courtship that most other couples did. That Orihime did with Ichigo.
Maybe Ichigo preferred the quiet, yet attentive love he got from Chad, over the romantic quirkiness of Orihime. Orihime wondered if she could change herself for Ichigo, but she knows that she wouldn't be honest if she did. The last thing she wanted to do is decieve Ichigo and hurt him. And she knew that no matter what she did, she could never replace Chad.
But whenever she would see them kiss, she couldn't help but feel warm inside, and all her jealousy flew away. Although she was not the one with Ichigo, she felt content because she knew he was happy and in love. She loved him, and could only wish for his happiness. After all, butterflies are more beautiful when free.

AN: Yay! This took awhile, since I had a lot of ideas, but I did want this fic to go off topic. Maybe you'll see them later! While this fic focuses on the Chad/Ichigo pairing, it's not really a ChadIchi fic, I guess, because it focuses more on Orihime. I hate when people write yaoi fic that make the female that is most likely/canonically paired with one of the guys in the relationship look stupid or jealous and mean. Except Winry. But I just don't like her in general. :P I think most of these girls would be happy to know their guys were happy. Orihime is my favorite female character, and has a personality similar to mine, so I could never write her in a negative light. I like her paired with Ishida the most, but I think Tatsuki/Orihime is cute too. And I don't mind IchiHime. IchiRuki I don't like-RenjixRukia forever! XD Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this!
