I'm back, betches :P

1. The Mets lost 7-5, but I'm not 100% angry about it. They still played hard into the ninth. Pelf's start made me :(, but he's been doing so well lately, so I still love him. I think this start doesn't really say whether the really great start were just an anomaly- every pitcher has a bad start, and if he sucks next time, then we'll say, "It was good while it lasted." But I have faith in Pelf, and I think that he's finally developed into a great pitcher for the long run. I've just become such a huge fan of his recently- I really should have figured this out when he pitched that great game back in June(?), and then Wagner gave up that three-run homer, which sent me into tears. And not mildly weeping, like bawling. I've liked him every since, but now he's tied with Santana for my second favorite Met (José Reyes will always be number one). Though I can't find a Pelf shirt anywhere in stores (even though I live in the NY area) or online- I'm gonna just get this, customized for Pelf until I can get a true player tee for him.

2. The Red Sox make me cry. Excepting Jon Lester- I still love him way too much, and he pitched really well against the Yankees. 1863_project just called him "the emerging staff ace." Haha, that's so true. Otherwise, BAWWWW. You know what I said about the Mets playing hard even though they were losing by a lot in the ninth? Yeah, the Red Sox need to do that. Wait, Pedroia is doing that, so he doesn't make me cry (Did you see the ESPN guy say that he looks like a toy? If anything, his little-ness makes me laugh!). And Manny trade talk makes me cry, even though I know Manny's not being traded. But if he is (which there is like a .000000001% of that happening), I'd love to see him go to the Mets, just so I can still have him. They don't really need him- in fact, their outfield defense is quite good, so he'd probably detrimental- I just couldn't bear losing Manny! 1863_project just pointed out if that happened, then he, Pedro, and Trot Nixon would be on the same team- oh dear...And they could just go cross town and visit Johnny...oh my....

I wrote the above about an hour be it was announced he may go to the Marlins if he gets traded. ARGH. I don't like the Marlins, especially Dan Uggla for making the All-Star Game take forever. I know that it's not all his fault, but I like to blame him. And that HR tonight against the Mets just kinda fanned the fire of my growing Uggla-dislike. I could never hate him though. Hate is an emotion saved for Alex Rodriguez.

3. I swear to G'd, SportsCenter is now FavreCenter. I liked Brett Favre before this shit, but now he irritates me. It's not all his fault that the dumb SportsCenter anchors spend three-fourths of the show talking about him. But he (and Packers management) could be less vague. The only thing that has come out of this entire thing is that I now quite like Aaron Rodgers. He seems like such a sweet, professional, decent guy- it's a shame he's tangle in this mess when it's clearly not his fault. I feel kinda bad for him, but I'm impressed by how he's been dealing with this. The only thing I don't like about his is that someone out there nicknamed him "A-Rod." (1863_project just pointed out that "A-Rod" is also Andy Roddick's nickname). But like this whole Favre situation, it's not his fault, so I don't hold it against him.

And because I've been really wanting to type this the entrire time: Farve. Farve. Farve. Farve.

I feel soooooo much better now.

4. Is it wrong that my first though when I saw this was, "So, she's bi?" xD H!P is saying that they're just friends though, which sould likely, being that Kanna is a lesbian and all. xD At least she put up a good image of one. I hope she becomes the next Yossie, with the vague sexuality and all. That would be <3. And Airi could be her Charmy or Mako though really Charmy, only with a better voice. Someone should write this pairing...it's been around for awhile...

5. WHAT THE FUCK. JOSH BECKETT DOESN'T SMILE.

6. I've been listening to a lot of British pop lately, namely the Sugababes' (one of my favorite groups) latest album "Change" and Girls Aloud's greatest hits album. Although I am a huge Babes fan, this album is only 'okay.' There are some great songs- the "Roman ~My Dear Boy~"-esque lead single "About You Now," "Never Gonna Dance Again"'s mature disco, and the grungy reggae sound of "Back Down," but the ballad are boring, and while Amelle has grown on me, she's not Mutya. While the Babes typically reinvent themselves every album, this sounds a lot like their previous effort, the superior "Taller in More Ways." It's a good album with many gems, but it's not as interesting as their previous albums.

As for Girls Aloud- wow, what a strange sound. All their music is produced by Xenomania, who give the Girls a unusual-yet-catchy/danceable sound. I heard about them through a fellow Babes fan, and I downloaded their track, "Biology." It's a rather unusual song- starting off with a bluesy, bold intro and effortlessly transforming into a dance track and back a few times, and all amazingly catchy. I was intrigued, and when my father said he was going to England, I asked him to pick up their greatest hits CD along with the Babes album. It's very intersting- Xenomania is very into breaking down pop normalcies- many of their songs don't follow the verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus formula that is typical. The only weakness is their ballads- with the exception of "Whole Lotta History" and the parts of "Life Got Cold" that didn't rip off of Oasis' "Wonderwall," their ballads are boring. I may or may not do a better review of this album later, but I have to say that Girls Aloud is one of the best recent girl groups, up there even with Golden-Age Morning Musume. If you love girl groups, please check out Girls Aloud- their music is available on iTunes. If you're British, I'm sure Girls Aloud is old hat to you, but they're not very popular stateside, so...

7. On the topic of the Sugababes, I recently learned that Miranda Cosgrove covered "About You Now." (The Babes version is here) I like th original better- as I mentioned, it sound a lot like "Roman ~My Dear Boy~" by Morning Musume if you mixed a little dance-pop into it. It's the best track on the "Change" album in my opinion. As for Miranda's version, it's catchy and pretty true, although giving it more of a typical teen-pop sound. I think it's pretty decent, with the exception of Miranda's voice. She's a decent singer, but her voice sounds really computerized in this track, and not in the cool Perfume way. I would prefer they left her voice natural. I believe they did in "Leave It All To Me" (at least it sounds like that), and she sounds fine. Sugabaes version is much better, but Miranda's is cute and fun.

As I was typing the above, I accidentally wrote that Miranda Lambert covered the Sugababes. While that has not happen, I could imagine her doing a rocking countrified cover of "Hole in the Head"- really, her covering any Babes song would be amazing, but I think "Hole in the Head" suits her best.

8. Continuing with covers, I have recently learned that Anna Tsuchiya and Hannah Montana have coreved the same song (the original is here). Yes, really. The lyrics and sound are different- Anna's is a little rougher, but basically very close, where as Hannah's is the exact same song. I like both- they're different but I really like the melody a lot, and both girls have great voices (Anna's voice is better, but skill can come with age). Normally I hate Disney's ballads, but since this isn't originally Disney, I guess it's different? The weakest one is the original, as I find the girl's voice really boring. But Anna and Hannah (oh shit that rhymes) both do the song well.

9. And to let you off with some weirdness...MANGA BARACK OBAMA...or shall I say, John Omaha? xD I think I may need to read "Air Gear" more now...I'm only on volume two...What an odd character...

By the way, I'm now supporting Obama since Hillary lost and shit and I hate McCain. I'm not 100% on Obama, but he seems to have goals more similar to mine. We Hillary people gone Obama need a name besides "staunch Democrats." (Which I am not, by the way. I'm an independent, as I don't 100% agree with most Democrats)

I'll probably post more later but not tomorrow, as I'm planning on taking an internet/computer break (I'm only gonna use my computer for iTunes and reference pictures if I want to draw something). But after that I'll probably have more to post. So see you soon!

aaron rodgers, it's farve, brett fuckin' favre, hello!project, hannah montana, air gear, anna tsuchiya, lesbians, miranda cosgrove, manga, green bay packers, girls aloud, florida marlins, baseball, politics, sugababes, football, boston red sox, nickelodeon, sports, wtf?, mike pelfrey, covers, manny ramirez, miranda lambert, ℃-ute, i hate espn, new york mets, dan uggla sucks, kanna arihara, disney channel, barack obama
