AMAZING.
I GOT CENTER BARRIER, AND HE WAS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, AND I EVEN TOUCHED HIS HAND AND GOT A SETLIST AND IT WAS AMAZING.
It was like everything a live show should be. He was very spontaneous and improvised and jammed a lot, but still played the songs through. There was a setlist, but he mixed it up a lot and added in some stuff, like an acoustic "Somehow" and a cover of "Blackbird" by The Beatles (if one hasn't listened to Drake's music, they are his biggest and most obvious influence). Some songs got changed up live- "Found A Way" had added horns (he had live trombone, tuba, and sax players), "End It Good" was louder and more energetic than the album version, and as mentioned before "Somehow" was just Drake singing and playing guitar. The songs on the new EP sounded fantastic live, as expected, and he even played some unreleased ones that will probably end up on the album, which were also really great. It was a pretty perfect set. The only things that would have made it even more perfect is if he had done an encore and had performed my favorite song of his, "Down We Fall", but I can't complain about his performance.
There were two opening acts, which they didn't tell us, and they both fit into that emo/scene sound that I don't particularly like, but they were tolerable. It just annoyed me that there were two bands. There were actually a lot of younger teens who came mostly to see them. I think a lot of the people who mainly came for Drake were around their late teens or twenties. It's kind of annoying that they are trying to market Drake for that younger fanbase, since it seems that most of his fans are a little older, but I didn't mind that much in terms of the concert.
Welp, I'm going to go crash now. Good night!
