You know those moments when the world is just so fucking perfect that you can't believe it? I just ended up watching the fireworks in my hometown, from the sidewalk, in my pajamas, in the rain. I've never been a huge fan of going to see the fireworks, but my house was right near by where they were going off, and I happened to catch them by chance. I was just sitting at the computer, when I suddenly heard a big crash sound. I thought it wa thunder the first few times I heard it, but then it dawn on me it was July 4th and that those were fireworks. I rush outside, figuring I'll catch a little of them.
As I mentioned earlier, I've never been a huge fan of fireworks. I don't see the fuss of seeing unnatural lights in the sky. But these were gorgeous. There were some trees covering some of where the fireworks were, and the lights looked like they were coming out of the trees. And the entire sky lit up, which looked amazing. When I see them close up, normally I just see the sky around the fireworks light up. But from far away, I can see the entire sky and it look beautiful.
About one minute into watching the show, it started raining. And G'd, the rain felt so good. I'm really weird in that I love taking cold showers-I can't stand baths, and hot showers can be nice, but to me, there is nothing like a cold shower on a scorching hot day. At the rain felt just like that, and the same temperature I set my showers. I just stood there, letting the rain get me soaked and dripping.
When the fireworks show ended, I got the urge to do that cliched "dancing in the rain" thing, so I did. I was spinning and spinning, and I danced a lot, until the neighbors came out of their house, when I decided that it might look odd if I was dancing in front of my house in my pajamas with no music.
I know this sounds really corny, but it felt sooooo good! I can't even describe it! LOL
So, happy Independence Day, my American friends, and happy day (night?), my non-American pals! And
1863_project, to you, both :P
