In Greek Civ today, some girl didn't know what "illiterate" meant.
I nearly went on a rampage.
This reminds me of my Girls' State experience. At Girls' State, I figured I would meet lots of really smart girls with interests like mine. Nope--instead I met a bunch of dumb, ditzy, cheerleader-wannabes. And the worst was this one girl whose greatest achievement in life was being told she looked like the main girl from Mean Girls (not Lindsay Lohan)--this dumb girl (believe me, she was a total ditz) got a 1500 on her SAT. There must have been an error.
Anyway, my Greek Civ class seems to be comprised of the dumbest students at Duke, myself excluded.
Oh, here's a portion of my Greek Civ syllabus. Enjoy.
Attendance:
Don’t miss classes, don’t be late, and don’t show up without having done the reading; come to class prepared to defend your views on the reading. Capice? If you have an unavoidable sports event or bubonic plague, let me know in advance and be sure to make up the class you’ve missed before the next one. More than three (3) absences will result in a deduction of one letter grade. Remember that this class is designated as a seminar and therefore requires your participation in discussions.
