doctor, doctor, give me the news...

Ugh. Today I had to go to the doctor to get some tests done (I'm always sick to my stomach and we've been trying for a year now to find out why).

First they made me drink pure lactose (milk sugar) to see if I am lactose intolerant. Yeah, well anyone would be lactose intolerant if they had to drink that sludge. Ick. It tasted like sugar syrup...ewwwww. And after I drank it I wasn't allowed to have anything to eat or drink for three hours so consequently I couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. Plus, I had to stay at the hospital for those three hours and breathe into a bag every 15 min. I know, I know, contain your envy.

And of course I had to get bloodwork done. I don't mind having blood drawn at all, but I thought they were only going to take two vials. Wrong. They took four. And the worst part was I could hear the blood--MY blood--rushing into the tube. For those of you who don't know, I can handle most kinds of gore, but anything related to the circulatory system literally makes me weak. (Oh no! I divulged my weakness! Now Nick will use that against me! :-)

But Brad was a saint and came with me to the doctor's. That's the mark of a perfect boyfriend. And I'd just like to let all of you know that not only did Brad spend all three hours with me at the doctor's today, but he's come with me to get my hair cut and styled before, too. I am one very lucky woman.

On a better note, yesterday Brad and I had the best conversation with his grandma. We went out to eat with her, and I really enjoyed listening to her. I admire her a lot.

Well, I'd better go now.
