Last night a woman came into the shop and started asking me questions about the wine, such as 'are these ones on special offer?'. So I pointed out the big ass promotion sign saying these wines are on special offer or words to that effect. She told me the fact that so many of the labels were in the wrong place was very unhelpful, and could I scan a bottle to find out? I said um no, because to find out if they were two for one I would have to scan 2 and then press total, then void them if she changed her mind (and I had a feeling she would) which would look bad on my Big Brother Is Watching You style till report at the end of my shift. When she came to pay she informed me that we should sort out the state of the shelves, because she used to work in a shop like this and she knows what she's talking about. I told her "I just work here" and possibly glared a bit too much. She then told me that 'a more pleasant attitude towards the customers usually helps, too".
I replied "Oh right, I'll bear that in mind, shall I?"
I'm usually so good at biting my tongue, but my patience is wearing thin and I have a horrible feeling I'm going to get myself sacked again!
Just call me Daisy Steiner!
