So far on the trip...

Alright, this is the first chance I've had to update while on the trip so I'll just start from the beginning.

Saturday: I got up around 4:30 (waayyyy too early) to get a shower and stuff, and we were in the car by 5:30. Rob drove to Greensboro where our first flight was. We had 7 bags to check (11 total, I know--it's A LOT) so we did the curb-side check-in thing so we wouldn't have to carry them all. Definitely a good idea. After two sprites, a bottle water, a biscuit, and reading the new Teen People while waiting in the airport of what seemed for forever, we finally got on the plane. It was a pretty decent flight, not really all that rocky, except the people behind me would not shut up about alcohol. Seriouly, for an hour and a half flight all I heard about was White vs. Dark Russians, Margaritas, Martinis, Cosmos, etc, etc...really obnoxious. The one good thing about the flight was that it was to LaGuardia Airport, so we got to fly over NYC. The city is so awesome, and it was cool because on one side of the airplane was New Jersey, and on the other side NYC...definitely mind-boggling at first. So we get to La Guardia, with a one hour layover. I bought an I <3 NY t-shirt, pretty exciting, and then we boarded our second plane. This is where the badness of the trip up starts. We boarded the plane like movie stars (walk out there and go up some stairs) instead of the usual (through the tunnel) which was cool, but this plane was like 6 rows long. The tiniest plane I've ever been in..it was crazy. AND the plane was liek 90 degrees inside because there was no A/C..which eventuall got fixed, but I almost passed out. So we fly from LaGuardia to Providence in the dinkiest plane they'll let you fly in (seriously...it was like this thing could've been a Cracker Jack prize). We get to Providence, go to baggage claim and guess what--one of Carrie's bags is missing. The first time I have to check baggage...and it's missing--what's up with this? We finally find the bag, it's back at La Guardia, so they have to send it over on another plane. Not cool. Even though they lost my bag, it was ok because it wasn't TOTALLY lost, and I got to go to Boston...

Boston (still Sat, but more exciting): So we drive from Providence to S. Attleboro to catch the train into Boston. Definitely an experience. The T is awesome...a nice scenic route until you get to South Station (where you catch all the "lines"). The only confusing part about Boston's subway system is whether you go inbound or outbound. See, if you're going into Boston you're going outbound on the red line. But if you're going out of Boston you're going inbound on the red line, or outbound on the green, blue and orange lines. It's not so bad, as long as you know which line to take. It's the red line to Harvard, the green to Fenway Park, and the orange/blue lines are stuffed inbetween. We went to Fenuial (Fin-ee-ull) Hall, which is all historical, but it's now turned in to this HUGE market thing. It's really awesome--a must see if you ever go to Bos. I bought a new hemp necklace, def. good and Chris got a BoSox hat (GO RED SOX). Then we went to see Harvard, and surrounding area, which was cool. We got a little kind of personal tour beceause Sarah Moran was still up there finishing exams (her and Chris are friends) and so she showed us around. I got a t-shirt from the bookstore, a must-have indeed. Then we walked over to Mr. F's and ate the best burger I've had in a good while. Let's see, there's other really awesome Boston stories..but I'll tell you all those in person...they need some animation and such. So we drove from Boston to Waterford, CT where our hotel was. Good stuff.

I'll update with Sunday and today later, I have to go take a shower.
