Dear Barnes and Noble

I know that I'm just one person and don't know about running a huge mega-chain of retail stores but I have this idea...

When the paperback version of a New York Times best selling book is released. You might just want to actually bring the copies out from the back room and have them in the store.

It's just a thought...

Hmmm it appears more explanation is needed here. This is just one B&N and this is not the first time that I and a few others have had problems with this particular store. There are about 10 other BN's in the area that I love to shop at and are managed well with great employees, but this is the store next to my office and so when I want something right away without driving 20 miles. I usually go here.

This was also in no way a jab at the employee. If anything he was more irritated than I was since it was he who unpacked the books and had them ready to be put out the day before. He was also irritated that he had to get approval from his manager to take the book from the back room.

This is the store that told me I couldn't return something with a gift receipt if it had been more than 7 days. (Which I'm sure you know is not the policy), and who's own employees have told me is managed terribly with no real care in having things out on time or restocking the shelves correctly. I find more things on abandoned carts than anywhere else. When it's manga or some rare book I don't usually poke fun but in this instance my sarcastic side just needed to point and laugh. If I hadn't been on pins and needles to read this book for the last 4 months I would have taken the time to go to the better store but the otaku in me couldn't wait.
