Where do I begin? First day of Yasumicon.
Let's just say that Yasumicon has been my most successful convention EVAR. Yes, I misspelled it on purpose. And be forewarned.
Aw fuck it, I'll just write different entries. XD
Saimon and me struggled the entire week working on our costumes. I'd go on and off to his house, sleep over, play video games and sew. Just sew for hours on end. Two days prior to the convention, I hadn't finished even one part of my Akane costume. I stayed up all night sewing it to the elastic and rushing around town to find a suitable wig. I stayed up the entire night and didn't finish either. I ended up wearing my kimono I talked about a couple of months ago instead. Max picked me up in his BMW and I got to see his girlfriend Jill and his family too, whom I hadn't seen in years. Andrew came along too. It was really fun.
The first thing I did was rush to the dealer room. It's the big thing at any convention. And I tried avoiding my stalker Winrich, I succeeded. I even got one of the merchants to help me tie my obi better. I got asked a bunch of times to have my picture taken. And I ran into all my friends. We left to eat lunch at Wendy's and came back to meet someone I like to call an "Insult Pianist". Kind of like the insult dog. Get it? Every single time, he's choose a random girl and say they were the cutest girl they've seen all day. And as they approached, he's say for them to go away. I was told he didn't dig memoirs of a geisha girls. XD
Then the costume contest came around. I went by myself and ran into Shane, Zenen and some of their friends. During the school year, they tended not to talk to me, but as the year drew to a close, they got alot more friendly with me. I asked about Jenny and they said they weren't friends with her anymore. Jenny has never liked me and seemingly for no reason at all. The two of them revealed to me, with their new found hatred for her, that she had apparently had thought after all that time, that I was interested in taking Dan, her 4 yr. boyfriend away from her. Not only impossible concerning my former love for Julian, but also inconceivable since I had never been interested in Dan myself. I never even talked to him. I didn't even know they had been together. It came as such a shock, but they also told me that it had been because Jenny was always incredibly insecure. But like Julian once told me jokingly. All Jennys are whores bitches, and commonly, both at the same time. Funny, but currently holding true. I feel really sorry for her if she mistakingly believed it all that time. =(
Alot of my friends were in the cosplay contest. Max and Jill as Ragnarok characters. Andrew as a character from ./hack. Achika and Hazel as some school girls from some anime called School Battle Rumble, or something like that. It was super fun watching them. I even saw Flora and Chad as Mr and Ms. Pac man. Pretty good., even though she's still a bitch.
I had fun with Shane and Zenen. I saw Saimon and his group and saw them with Winrich. I arranged to go home and get ready for the concerts at night. I rushed and dressed in some rocker clothes. It was fun. Although at first, when I got there I was bummed because I was sitting by myself. I did have fun though watching a cosplayer who was dressed as Snake earlier do stand up comedy. This tidbit almost seems irrelevant, but I assure you, it is of utmost IMPORTANCE. He was doing stand up comedy and as he ended, he wanted us to play a little game and stand up. But we didn't play any game. The band got on stage and started playing.
The first band sucked. It just did.
Now the second was awesome. I had found Maria and Hazel and we watched the band Staat Von Kreig preform. It was SOOOOO cool We danced and rocked out so hard and played with glow sticks. We threw them across the auditorium but we stopped because we didn't want to get in trouble. It was SOOOO much fun.
And then, the REAL J-pop band appeared. Artbeat. To be honest, their music wasn't all that special. But it was a concert and we all had so much fun rushing the stage and dancing. At this point I had re met up with Shane and Zenen's group with much surprise since they had thought I'd left. when he concert was over, the band threw stuff at the fan girl.s I almost got a drumstick, but I got tackled by a rabid one and laughed about it for the rest of the night. I bought a CD and had them sign it. Then I went up to the Staat Von Kreig guys and found out one of them was my friend Gary from Art class all those years ago as a freshman in art class. I was super shocked. Imagine the quiet emo, almost suicidal kid shaving his head half way and joining a death metal performance band. Shocking to say the least. He said Raissa, his sister had at first thought it was crazy, but was now okay with it. What a small world. XD
I listened to the Artbeat album on the way home, realized, they kind of sucked and couldn't get Mr. Solid Snake out of my mind. I swear this will become important.
