everyone loves a vegan

It's been a while since I mentioned a book other than Harry Potter.. so today, thats what I am doing. I picked up a copy of Skinny Bitch by Barnouin & Freedman since I heard it mentioned some where on some blog whos URL I don't remember.. anyway, I know this book isn't for everyone.. some people I know find it 'rude'.. I on the other hand found it entertaining and educational.. but to save on time.. here's a quote:

You should not need anything to wake up. If you can't wake up without it, it's because you are either addicted to caffeine, sleep deprived or a generally unhealthy slob. It may seem like the end of the world to give up your daily dose. But it's not heroin, girls, and you'll learn to live without it.

You are a total moron if you think the Atkins Diet will make you thin.

I guess I don't find anything they say as offensive because I don't take it personally. I actually rather enjoyed the book. I don't agree that you must be Vegan to be thin.. hell, you don't even have to be Vegetarian! but other than that, I pretty much agree. People think less and less about what they are shoving into their mouthes these days.. I am no exception.. I however, am making the effort to be more knowledgible about what I consume.. after reading the book I began looking over my lacto-vegetarian diet and noticed I was consuming a lot of dairy products.. so I pretty much decided to give it all up cold turkey along with my sweeteners and I am now Vegan!

I am using Rice Dream's milk, 100% pure Maple syrup for sweeteners.. I will be trying to find a soy cheese I can stomach sometime in the near future. I stumbled upon PETA's list of Vegan junk-foods.. I grabbed me some of Wheat-Free/Dairy-Free Fig Newmans -- not bad!
