So...I mean, I love good fic like any other crazy fandom goer, and really, good fic makes for happy times. But I really hate it when a little detail drives me nuts, because it's not really that big of a thing and not all that important and doesn't really reflect on the writer's ability...but it just bugs me. It's like some perverse version of OCD. Little things like Ray tilting his head up to kiss Fraser when Ray has an inch on Benny or random non-American phrases popping out of Vecchio's mouth (e.g. "bloody terrifying") or whatnot. It's one of those little things that stick out like a sore thumb for me.
And another one of those things is the mis-quoting of the Miranda warning, which should be as follows:
- You have the right to remain silent.
- If you do say anything, what you say can be used against you in a court of law.
- You have the right to consult with a lawyer and have that lawyer present during any questioning.
- If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be appointed for you if you so desire.
- If you choose to talk to the police officer, you have the right to stop the interview at any time..

Like I said, perverse version of OCD.
