FAQs

Okay. Ally and I decided to make sure that we don't get emails with "how do I credit you?" "Can I put my username on this?" questions in them, we'd make an FAQ entry. YAY. You can also comment with other questions here that you might have :]

1. How do I credit?
Simple. When you upload your picture, put anyting you want in the Keywords box, and then in the Comment box, put either "Credit to destiny__x" or "Credit to ___inutero", Depending on who made the graphic you're using.
EXAMPLE:

edit: that's meant to be destiny__x with 2 underscores, not 1. ___inutero has 3 underscores also.

ANOTHER NOTE: if you're crediting for a layout, just a note in your bio saying "Credit to destiny__x" is good:)

2. Can I put my username on this icon/banner?
Yes. But please ask us first, so we can offer to do it for you. Or, if the graphic you want has been made for someone else, ask them first if they would mind if you used it, and then we can edit it to have your name in it:]

3. Can I use something that someone else has requested?
Like I said before, yes. But please, please, please ask the person who requested it first. They might want it for themselves for some reason, we're not sure.

4. How do I use a layout?
This can be fairly tricky if you haven't done it before. First, from the top toolbar go to Manage, Customize [here.] and make sure you're using the old system[S1]. Follow the link to the Modify Journal page.
You should a page like this:

Follow the instructions given by the layout maker [probably Ally, because I, Nicky, cannot make a layout to save my life. I tend to stick to banners/icons] for the colour codes and layout styles. Then scroll down to the Override area:

Copy and paste the HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE code given to you by Ally. Then, look through this huge code and change all the "USERNAMEHERE"'s to your username. I do believe there is some way you can change ALL of them at once, but I can't remember. I'll put it up once I find out.

5. How do I make an LJ cut?
Use this code:
<*lj-cut text="put what you want the name of the link to be here"*>
put what you want under the cut here
<*/lj-cut*>

Obviously you get rid of the stars. And you don't have to put a link title in because if you don't, it will just come up as "Read More..."
There's also another tag, LJ user I think it's called. You simply put <*lj user="username here"*>. You can also use that in crediting us.

If we've left anything out, please let us know:]
