Awkward...

Today I was at The Village of Value with my mommy and doing what I always do at thrift stores, that being shop for vinyl and whatever other useless crap I can find. Today they had six full bins to look through so naturally I kind of zoned out as I'm happily sifting in hopes of finding some kind of cheesy gold in there. With six bins, you know that I've been standing there for a while and with narrow aisles, I am constantly moving around to allow other people to get by me. No big deal but I notice that there is one woman who is wandering around and she's come by more than once. Finally she asks me if I noticed where the cassette tapes were. I said that I didn't and she gets a better look at me now that I'm actually facing her instead of tuned into my record hunt. She looks me over and says "You're pretty". Now I always get a little bit confused and a little shy when people comment on my appearance, particularly when I don't know them so I tried not to act like a total weirdo as I said thank you and was happy to get back to my records. Before I could turn around the woman in front of me sighs and says "I'm ugly". Now, I honestly don't know what else I could have said in that instance other than no she wasn't (because no, she really wasn't but then we get into relative beauty and what is "pretty", etc...). Said woman then went off into the aisles of thrift and wandered off muttering to herself leaving me to wonder why the hell anyone would say that.

On a slightly less awkward note, I have more vinyl and even a copy of something smothered in cheese for someone else out there. (You know who you are.) Also a Clue puzzle and a bunch of new fabric to play with. The best part is: I didn't go broke! Thank you for sales and ridiculously priced crap! Hooray for everything!
